Nothing I have read on this thread hasn't been said 100 time before.

It's a boring repetitive metaphor for the Brexit 'process'.

'Cept Pointy's stuff obs.

Never know what that loveable perv will come up with.

Completely disagree with that part. Scotland voted for devolution in 1979 but were denied it. Absolutely nowt happened.
The idea that there would be any sort of mass negative reaction to a denial of a second indyref is fantasy. Scotland knows its place.
------------------------------------------------------
No true - the devo vote was predicated on achieving a 50% majority. Rigged (like the Scottish parliament was supposedly rigged to prevent any majority), but we failed to vote it through on that basis, nonetheless.

So there was a valid (if rigged) argument that Scotland didn't vote for devo under those rules.

Even then there were elements who adopted undemocratic means. Some went to prison for it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

But that just proves my point. There was a blatantly rigged vote that went against the way Scotland voted and... nothing.
The McCrone report which concluded an independent Scotland would be embarrassingly wealthy was buried for years and came out in 2005. Were there protests in the street that the UK had hidden Scotland's true potential from it? Nope, again people just kept their heads down and didn't make a peep.

And as Scotland has a PM that the vast majority here dislike and are being taken out of the EU despite a convincing "remain" vote, nothing will change.

Because we're just North Britain and we know our place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The break of the precious bloody union may be the ONE positive of this whole ludicrous debacle.

Hope so.

Norway is a high tax / high public service society.

Million miles away from any right wing group.

Come gie's a song montgomery cried
And lay your disputes a' aside
What nonsense is't for folks to chide
For what was done before 'em

Let whig and tory a' agree
Whig and tory whig and tory
Whig and tory a' agree
To drop their whigmigmorum

Let whig and tory a' agree
To spend this night in mirth and glee
And cheerfu' sing alang wi' me
The reel o' tullochgorum

Tullochgorum's my delight
It gars us a' in ane unite
And only sumph that keeps up spite
In conscience I abhor him

Blythe and merry we'll be a'
Blythe and merry blythe and merry
Blythe and merry we'll be a'
And make a cheerfu' quorum

Blythe and merry we'll be a'
As lang as we hae a breath to draw
And dance till we be like to fa'
The reel of tullochgorum

Let wardly worms their minds oppress
Wi' fears o' want and double cess
And sullen sots themselves distress
Wi' keeping up decorum

Shall we sae sour and sulky sit?
Sour and sulky sour and sulky
Sour and sulky shall we sit
Like auld philosophorum?

Shall we sae sour and sulky sit
With neither sense nor mirth nor wit
Nor ever rise to shake a fit
To the reel o' tullochgorum?

May choicest blessings aye attend
Each honest open hearted friend
And calm and quiet be his end
And a' that's gude watch o'er him

May peace and plenty be his lot
Peace and plenty peace and plenty
Peace and plenty be his lot
And dainties a great store o' them

May peace and plenty be his lot
Unstain'd by any vicious spot
And may he never want a groat
That's fond o' tullochgorum

But for the discontented fool
Who wants to be oppression's tool
May envy gnaw his rotten soul
And blackest discontent devour him

May dool and sorrow be his chance
Dool and sorrow dool and sorrow
Dool and sorrow be his chance
And honest souls abhor him

May dool and sorrow be his chance
A' the ills that come frae France
Whae'er he be that winna dance
The reel o' tullochgorum

"Anyway, not too relevant" actually I would argue that remains totally relevant.

Social mobility in the UK increased every year from 1945 until? Until your "person who ultimately fixed much of that' came to power. She destroyed British industry, reversed decades of social progress and replaced it with greed. Now we live in a gig economy where many of in those in work cannot afford to live (blame that on trade unions), where Love Island replaces Bread and Circuses and where the mega rich and the mega powerful flaunt their wealth, power and prestige. Where every bank you have ever heard of has been done for serious fraud, fixing exchange rates or diddling customers, where the Serious Fraud Office FFS 'fines' SERCO (as one example) £29 million for fraud but remarkably no one is prosecuted ! A wee woman diddling the SS out of £70 would be in the pokey!

Aye the stranglehold of the trade unions - the bad old days - compared to today. (vomit)

It could all and might yet end in tears because social cohesion only works when people feel invested in it.

How the Fwuck was no one jailed for this??

Seriously, How the Fwuck was no one jailed for this??

Corruption, that's why. Corruption on a GRAND scale.

For the first time in my nearly 60 years I find myself having no one in politics who represent my views or aspirations .I cannot stand the 2 main parties because of Bojo and Labour under Corbyn are an ugly proposition .SNP are a one trick pony Sturgeon is plain awful and the fool at Westminster looks like a jakey with a borrowed suit .That leaves the Liberal Democrat’s who are neither.Bring back the Monster Raving Loony mob.

Automatic.

Soz mate.

I'll have to withdraw my nomination of you as PM.

Bt the time it comes to fruition I won't be a UK citizen.

These entitled mega rich fanatics have turned me to Indepedence.

Scotland will be a Left of Centre social justice society as well as

member of the EU enjoying all the many Workers' Rights that

membership brings.

I can testify that although I voted for Independence TMQ did not. We both argued the bit back and forth on here but fair play he stuck to his (then) unionist guns.

For him, and many more like him (my wife for another one), to change his mind is instructive.
