Giggs was 40 when he was playing for United, hardly a youth academy player.
On the OP, it has helped that quite a few ex-United players/coaches have managed in the PL in recent years, using that connection to bring young players to their new club.

There is a website that lists all club "products" in the football league and Utd top that too atm.
We are not playing them you idiot, other teams are playing them because they weren't good enough for us (because our signings have been so good and kept them out of the team) but they came from our academy.
There are players like Zaha who we developed as a youngster who have gone on to do very well at someone like Palace who cannot develop their own players. Any success these kind of teams have is pretty much all down to us.

Yeah, but he played a couple of warm up games for our youth team to get his fitness up before he played for the 1st team.
Therefore he qualifies as a youth product.
Whilst this a great stat, the club need to turn that into profit.
Our products are proven to be of good standard are generally very professional too.
So why do we not make any money from this investment?
