If he does well for us I doubt the price will even be remembered
.................
Of course it will, you nincompoop. We just won't care.
But your record with players you champion is as bad as it can get.
Hopefully this will be one of those 'broken clock' moments.

Just heard the news now.
After playing hardball with Leicester, we end up paying £5 million more than the already overpriced valuation.

How did you get to that conclusion when the fee was 80 and you paid 80?

Where does he rank in the top 20 CB's in world football
----------------------------------------------------------------------
40th
I read that Maguire has two goals and two assists against top six sides. So at least he’ll be more of a threat in big games than Lukaku.
What this signing does do is make LB our weakest defensive position now.
Forget the fee now, because it's out of our hands, these CB options are strong: Maguire, Lindelof, Smalling, Tuanzebe.
Jones, Rojo & Bailly should be considered dispensable now. All three of them are injury prone.

No... It makes cb still our weakest defensive position
Maguire and Lindelof with Matic in front is a very slow central defensive block.... We're begging to get hit on the break

I'm the last person that wants to see Matic playing regularly. He's in decline. I really wanted Herrera playing in front of the defence this season... We really need to replace him.
And I said that our *options* are strong. I haven't said anything about which partnership I'd like to see, but I agree that a quicker CB next to Maguire makes more sense. We'll see though.

What happens when Jones and Maguire butt heads?
While many are laughing at the price now, from a strategic point of view this makes alot of sense. After brexit there will be a quota for foreign players. Utd at least has the best set of english defenders in their squad now and saves some quota space for non-UK midfielders and attackers. Especially Chelsea, City and Arsenal will get screwed over by this in the next few months.
For the Di Marzio fans
Bruno Fernandes will almost certainly move to #mufc after Sporting Lisbon's match against Benfica on Sunday #mulive [@DavidAmoyal on @CalciolandPod]

Look... We know how this goes... Every mistake he makes shouldn't be over analysed... Any games where he doesn't make a mistake is automatically enhanced to superb... And any good performances are world class... He's your new pet project
Which is cool
He's not the worst cb to buy.... But he's got lots of weaknesses... No point in just ignoring them.
We could have a window of
AwB
James
Maguire
Fernandes
Mandzukic
That would be pretty good to start with and go for someone like Neves next summer
