I thought the deal was totally separate and not dependent on Lukaku and Dybala.
It would be a bit of a sly move for Juventus to block a transfer for Mandzukic because we couldn't agree terms with Dybala and they didn't end up getting Lukaku even though we were clearly willing to sell him to them.

Apparently the Mandzukic signing is dependent on Lukaku going to Juve.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just don't get this. Why the eff would Juve possibly want Lukaku? There is no logic to this at all.
Surely they watched him get fatter and fatter for us.
Pi$$ taking aside I just don't see any kind of chemistry between him and Ronald what so ever.
Sky reporting it now as well.
That’s what I read, TRS. I think the logic is that they’d be short of a cf if Lukaku doesn’t go there.
Sky sources: Manchester United will end their interest in Paulo Dybala as they are not convinced the player's desire to play for the club is what it should be.
The Juventus star was being lined up as part of the deal which would see Romelu Lukaku join the Serie A side but doubts over his commitment to joining United, along with excessive wage and agent demands, has led Old Trafford bosses to look at other options
The move is likely to end the proposed swap deal with Juventus.

A shame Ed didnt have this sensible approach with regards to Sanchez
Just on the off chance, and it looks more likely, that Lukaku ends up staying, where the heck does that leave us, other than still up a certain creek without a certain implement?
They can’t shift him. I’m not really sure what Juve’s plans are with the striker position if Dybala doesn’t leave.

I think we will give in and sell him off on the cheap on the last day.
Well that was fun for a couple days. Let’s hope we can still move Lukaku on and actually bring in quality that want to join and can fit. Good job we’ve got plenty of time and a whole pre season to bed in any new signings before the season starts in 7 days like Ole insisted.

At least he'll be well rested and raring to go... after missing almost all of preseason

I think you hit on the really important bit there. Bring in the quality that fits.
I wonder if we’ll go back to Inter and accept their offer now. Unless Juve can push Dybala out to another club they’ll have problems meeting our demands for Lukaku.

Simon Stone is a Manchester United mouth piece and Agresti is a Juve mouth piece.
There are games being played, I’d take everything with a pinch of salt because the Italian and English Journos are reporting completely different things.
I heard Napoli made an offer of £70m for Lukaku, if that’s true isn’t that more than Inter’s offer?
Simon Stone also reporting we have no interest in Fernandes.
Not too bothered about Dybala but I really hope we have something up our sleeve re the midfield otherwise this will be another long season.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah to reignite his career and make the CDM position his own? 😉
I really don’t get our attitude towards the midfield this transfer window. Surely Ole must realise it’s a big issue? I fear that he may be content to go with what we have, and it’d be a decision that could cost him his job if we fail to get top four due to the midfield causing us problems again.
Just seen that United are no longer after Dybala and Fernandes. Perhaps a smokescreen for Longstaff?
We never had interest in signing Fernandes this summer.

Never liked that Simon Stone.
I don’t see how Fernandes fixes our most significant issues in midfield.
Any of Jonas, Saul, Illaramendi, Goretzka, Pjanic, Weigl, Grillitsch, Thiago Mendes or several others would go at least some way to doing so.
