Yeah..... some things never change but for an uptick in the quality of players we might bring in..... I'll take it. Whoever we do sign.. just hope they are capable of hitting the ground running.... Eriksen looks disinterested if he's here beyond Thurs, Dele injured & Sonny suspended... Can't afford a slow start

Lloris
Walker Toby Verts Rose
Lo Celso Winks Ndombele
Coutinho
Dybala Kane
Crazy if you did sign even two of them and it would do wonders for you.
I just don't see how you would work out the wages as they would smash your current structure.

which makes selling Trips for the price we did even more strange. Granted he couldn't defend for shlt but as an attacking WB I've seen a lot worse. You're right about Sissoko... would be tough to move him out wide after his improvement in the middle.
All this excitement today is tempered by the fact we are not really going after what we need. Its true of a lot of clubs.... Arsenal buying Pepe when they need a new back 4
I know it's great that these signings are suddenly looking possible, but do we really need Dybala?
He won't replace Kane.
He's more of a second striker / forward, so either we change our system, or he replaces Son or Moura. Son can be one of our best players (although he needs to work on his consistency) and I feel that Moura has proved himself enough to be a starter.
Maybe he replaces Alli, and maybe that's a good thing...
I just think our priority is a creative midfielder, RB and LB, and he isn't any of these!
Also, 5 goals last season for him. Not saying he isn't a talent but to spunk all that cash on a position that isn't a priority... who knows.

Other than Rose, There’s not an ounce of natural width in it defensively or going forward.
Dybala is class and can play with or when kane is out. We need the options to go up a level

I have feeling Dele's stock is falling.... If he's not providing goals or assists he doesn't really do much. Very inconsistent and loses the ball a lot in stupid areas. Needs a big season. I think its attitude and application rather than talent. He seems to have lost that nasty streak that made him such a great player. Its almost as though he needs to get fired up to play and plays best when he's on the edge. He seems to drift through games now. Maybe a little time out of the team will make him sharpen his focus. He's a long way from the finished article

From what I've read.. Poch is heavily involved in this Dybala thing. He was the man at Juve before they signed Ronnie. I think the general view was that him and Ronaldo didn't gel. Doesn't make him a bad player & last seasons stats dont reflect how good he is...... He's mustard
Is anyone else reminded of that transfer deadline day a few years back where we were suddenly linked with every top striker in Europe - Aguero etc....?
Pretty sure we ended up signing no one!
Hoping that’s not the case this time.
If Dybala comes in(Big if) and Eriksen goes to united we are left in a weaker position.

I hope so! Agree about the Alli comments as well. Direct competition for him I suppose.
Just read on BBC that Eriksen not keen on Man U and they have halted talks. This is bad news. If we can't shift him I doubt Levy will pay for Dybala/Coutinho etc. Levy is not a gambler we know that.
We need to get this sulking Dane out. Clearly he is not interested anymore. Perhaps he is waiting until January to agree a lucrative contract abroad.
A painful 36hrs ahead.

Can't be a weaker position as Eriksen has publicly stated he wants to leave. I cannot think of a better option than having one or more of GLC, Countinho or Dybala to replace him. It might require a change in formation or the way we play but hate to keep pointing it out... Its not like we are breaking up a trophy laden squad !!!! and we showed relegation for for half of last season...... We are not that good & miles behind Pool & city...... Its time for a change... accept it. Thankfully it looks like the club finally have

Could be BS could be true who knows.
Sounds like Eriksen is off though which therefore makes sense that you are looking at similar players in Dybala and Coutiniho. Doubt you'd get both but one of them would make up for the Eriksen loss.

Manchester United have passed on the opportunity to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham to prioritise keeping Paul Pogba.
The MEN understands United believe Eriksen, 27, would rather move to Spain after Real Madrid had a nine-figure bid rejected for him last year and are unprepared to accept Tottenham's offer of bidding for him.
United sources suggested Madrid were lobbying Spurs to entertain a bid from United for Eriksen, despite manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's admiration, to plunge Pogba's future into more uncertainty.
Real coach Zinedine Zidane wants to sign Pogba rather than Eriksen, whom Madrid unsuccessfully bid for last year, and the Bernabeu club had a risible £27.4m plus James Rodriguez offer for Pogba rejected by United last week.
Spurs are desperate to avoid losing Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld, 30, on free transfers next summer since both have entered the last year of their contracts.
The MEN understands Tottenham sources were 'gutted' United did not trigger Alderweireld's £25million release clause before it expired on July 25, having explored the possibility of signing the Belgian last year.
