I've not seen Top Gun since it was first released. Guessing Tom Cruise won't still be boning Kelly McGillis in the sequel...
There's apparently going to be a Home Alone remake as well. Like the two films you mentioned, I'm not sure how any will do.
Top Gun was very 80's, and Cruise was perfect for the role at the time.

It's a direct sequel. Apparently it's to do with them trying to find their son who's scarppered to America.
Not even sure Arsanio Hall is gonna be in it.

And Joe Louis was 76 years old
Kelly McGillis hasn't aged well, she easily pass for Maverick's gran.
Will definitely watch it but I highly doubt any sequel could match the original. At least I hope it's not the disaster that Independence Day 2 was.
