Didn’t necessarily want Iwobi to go as our wide options are pretty shocking but £35M is an incredible deal for Arsenal. This is probably a record sale for us 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
More like £40M we get, Bats
----------------------------------------------------------------------
£35:according to SSN
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It isnt right. It's more like 40M .....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Were do you get this information?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Who cares about whether it was 35 or 40? Stop arguing over trifles.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was curious why someone was claiming it's more than £35 million, when that's what's reported. Also if it doesn't interest you, then dont comment 👍🏼

I'm sorry to see him go - he showed the desire and aggression that many in our squad don't - but his finishing was sadly lacking. I wish him well. Do we still have Wellbeck?

To be honest, I'd rather have got rid of Mkhitaryan than Iwobi, but nobody wants Mkhitaryan off our hands, so I guess we have to stick with him (thanks Wenger and Gazidis).

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Honestly I was gonna write an article about what a pathetic window we’ve had solely on the fact that Mustafi, Ozil and Mkhi have been here but there is still a few weeks left for some European club to save our season and take these 3 off our hands
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Genuinely mystifies me how we struggle so much to get rid of deadwood. It's not like we're Fulham or something. Mustafi could go back to Germany or even some Serie A clubs and rebuild his battered reputation. Mkhi had a great reputation in Germany. Why can't some German club take him?

Why aren't we lucky enough that some mugs in China would swoop in to take Ozil from us and pay him £500k a week?
Why is no one bidding for Kolasinac who had a great reputation in Germany (and had decent spells for us)?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could it be due to how much they earn?

The media and bigger accounts on twitter who have inside info saying it's near to 40M

I suppose we will find out. There is still the possibility it doesn't work out and he remains your player.

We can lay the blame for the stall in Iwobi's development at the feet of Alexis Sanchez, Lex. He utterly decimated Iwobi's confidence, over 2 seasons. Iwobi's confidence back under Emery and he was beating players for fun all through last season. His end product still needs work yes, but that's what happens after an established star spends 18 months trashing a club Junior for everything he does and blaming the youngster for his own mistakes. Big ego crushes little one. Takes a while for the younger player to recover. Iwobi has and he's going forward again.

We can't moan on the price but at the same time, Digby & Co don't be rubbing your hands relishing this sale just yet. We'll likely regret it when Everton sell the kid for 80 mil in 18 months time. A point at which you guys will all be the first ones running down the club for letting him go for a measly 35-40 mil.

Great move for Everton, you've had a bargain. Bad move for Arsenal, given current squad. We're too short of wingers to be selling any. Now we have to sit praying Pepe doesn't get injured all season. Cos Our record is so great in that department, huh.

Oh FGS the deal is 35 possibly increasing to 40! So stop pedantically arguing over a moot point since you're actually BOTH WRONG!

By the way - why do want to sell Kolasnic? I think he is a pretty solid player

To be fair, while I'm not a big fan of Iwobi, he was not among my list of 10 or so players to be shipped out. Considering we lacked depth in the wide areas last season, his transfer seems strange. This seems a purely financial decision. Aubameyang will have to be played there a lot. And Nelson had better stop up big time. Not liking what I'm seeing from him of recent. More impressed with Saka and even the new Brazilian kid.

If true, it goes to show that Marcel Bands can strike a decent deal.

Unbelievable amount of money for a highly average player. He’s an Everton level player. I hope he does well because it’s always nice to see Arsenal youth products have good careers. Good transfer window overall I have to say.

Hopefully Nelson, Saka and Martinelli will be given chances otherwise it is a bad sell.

I think it’s a good deal for Arsenal.
I see a high ceiling for Martinelli, Nelson and Saka as wingers that Iwobi.

We desperately need to get back into CL reckoning. Saka is 17. Martinelli is 18. Nelson is 19. We need players to deliver right now. We don't have the same luxury waiting for emerging talent as we did shortly after moving to the Emirates where top 4 was guaranteed every season.

Am a bit disappointed to lose Iwobi, but I can understand why he left. Our new frontline leaves very little room if any for him to play. It will be one of the top three strikeforces in th PL. Probably Walcott's last season in the PL.
