That’s exactly what we should have done.

I've always liked Klopp and said at the time I was envious of Liverpool getting him. But I don't think they will win the title this year, they are short of cover, and last year kept the front three fit all year, they will be lucky to do the same again.
Playing well in the first game at home against a promoted team doesn't say how you will do over the season.

You got called a Liverpool fan because you kept sucking them off and telling us we can’t criticise them, not for saying we should have appointed Klopp.

So it looks like you will get him, and I am quite envious in a way.
I don't necessarily think he is better than LvG, who I believe is putting a good young squad together and next year we will be rather good.

But Klopp will get you playing exciting football, and you will be more of a threat with him. I also like him, and think he is a good fit for you. A kind of German Shanks. Funny, passionate and makes good teams.
Enjoy the ride. I posted that at the time, on the Pool board, I thought he was a perfect fit for them, a little less for us.

The most important thing is to bring in the right players in terms of their mentality and I think we've done that with the players we have bought. In midfield we need to have a real good look at the talent within the club Fred gomes garner etc before we splash out on star names because if these kids do have the talent they most certainly will have the mentality(hunger commitment desire to play for club etc) which some of these star names might not have, so let's have a look at them this year and then see where we need improving over next few windows. Same applies upfront, let's see what rashford and martial can do over the course of season and take it from there. I recall ole saying this rebuild will take, 3 or 4 windows so let's sit back see if he has improved the defence and judge him on that then move onto the rest of the team. Do not expect huge improvements in the team this year except for defence and if that improves let's all get behind ole 100%. I for one am looking forward to seeing some of these youngsters getting and hopefully taking their chance

There were reports that Leceister wanted 90-100m for Maguire (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49166507) so 80m was worth the haggle.

Think people just like bitching and moaning for the sake of it.

I quite like that we have walked away from players like Dybala, Bruno, Eriksen etc because we felt they were too greedy, expensive or pining for other clubs.

£150m spent, defence supposedly sorted which everyone says is key to a title winning team. Yet people still complain.

Ultimately the managers and scouts influence our transfer targets, anyone thinking Ed sits there playing football manager is extremely naive.

Leicester wanted 90m from reports and weren't budging. I do think we should have looked at alternative targets. He signed now so will get my support when we play.

The issue has been the haphazard approach to signing of players and managers. Robb championing Conte (is it because he likes Lukaku?) would have pretty much been the same approach we had been taking with the likes of LVG and Jose and resulted in much the same. Allegri is a good coach but has never managed outside of Italy and Juventus are quite ahead of the others there. Without a good structure above him, he'd struggle as the others have done. Both are known as "defensive" coaches and Conte played some really bad football at Chelsea.

Klopp also turned us down, reportedly, after talking with Ed and how ED sold us to him. I can't say how true that is, but if it is true, it does show Ed has more issues than we realised. Ed is a business man and not a footballing man. I don't think he gets that side of things.

I also don't know why we are saying the Glazers are spending their own money. The club generates the money it spends. If anything the Glazers have used the club as a bank and if they wanted to, the club could easily pay of the debt in a few years. Its not like they are investing money of their own into it.

Who’s saying the Glazers are investing their own money? Though technically speaking the money the club generates is their money.
