Saying that, i noticed that Ajax have to play qualifiers as well?
I assumed that the Dutch league winners gained automatic qualification?

Tbf Cluj is a terrible stain on the world of places to want to go
Scottish football is a joke really.
But it's a major cup final for them whenever they play one of the big English clubs in Europe.
That settles the argument as to why the winners of the SPL have to still go through a qualifier to get to the CL... or not.

Frankly any country whose coefficient is worse than Russia must be doing pretty badly in general

Of course they can not compete financially against the likes of PSG and City. Regardless of who would be in their group, the'd be lucky to finish second if that.
Off the top of my head, i vaguely remember them getting through the group stage and then getting knocked out in the next round. That's as good as it's ever got for them (modern era)
How idiotic / Stupid was that brainless hand ball by Celtic against Brown inside the box, for a penalty kick converted by Omrani.
We're leading the tie 4 times and still got beat. They haven't got a Cluj
I don't understand it...didn't they win 7-0 on the opening week in the mighty Scottish Prem that they win every year...
I pointed out how poor Celtic were in Europe some weeks ago...and got slated

Scottish football isn't exactly thriving but in fairness, with the population of their country and the proximity to the Premier League, I'm not sure what people really expect.
The only reason people expect more, I think, is because of how big a club Celtic are.
