Goalscorer ages of 19, 20 and 22

2 of our goals were by 19 year old players.

There's a chance we'll be seeing more of these young players coming through this season and next.

I was quite impressed with Killman, calm and assured on the ball and his positioning was good enough to prevent him having to do much tricky defending. I can see why Nuno likes him. Vallejo looks a decent player too, could possibly play central mid I thought.

Netto was very lively and looks a decent deputy for Jota, Cutrone was unlucky not to get a goal but was busy and scared the sh!t out of the Armenians ran them ragged at times.

Thought Traore did well in the second half after he stopped blasting the ball over everyone's heads. His shot that went out for the throw in wasn't even anywhere near the corner flag. MGW was possibly man of the match for me, he grew in confidence massively after the goal and was constantly wanting the ball.

Lovely bit of class from Jimi n Jota at the end but I'm not really sure why they were thrown on unless Cutrone and Netto were tired.

Pyunik were ok in possession again and probably had more shots on target until we scored the first, but actually they were pretty toothless around our box, the only shot that worried Ruddy was in stoppage time.

Bring on Torino

it was encouraging from tonight’s performances that Cutrone, Neto, Traore and MGW can offer us a much better attacking squad now than we had last season when Costa and Cavaleiro were not fitting the bill.

Defensively I thought Kilman impressed more than Vallejo who like Dendoncker last season may need a little time.

And it’s a shame that the transfer window left us a man short in midfield which is why Moutinho and Dendoncker were needed tonight. No sign of Jordao who presumably is not deemed ready.

Agree with all your comments oldgold. After two easy aggregate wins the Torino game really is one to look forward to. Credit the club for keeping the prices the same for that one

Oh dear. Looks like you're talking out of your rear once again.

Despite us being in the Championship, Albion are still rated 18th in England!

Didn't know that was the case on the offices DJ, demand will be high for that one so fair play. I was expecting to have to shell out for that.

Pyunik (However you spell it) are ranked 745th in the world.

That's more than 500 places below Albion!

Good luck against Torino!

On the offices???? Predictive text has some funny ideas on this phone.

Expect the Torino game to be a close one, I'm told they are strong at the back, only conceded 37 league goals last season finishing 7th.

I think we've got enough in our locker to get past Torino. Pretty sure Nuno and the whole squad are taking this competition very seriously indeed.

Obviously that's not to say Tornino don't have a chance, that goes without saying in football.

I was expecting expecting to pay full whack for the Torino game so £15 is a good touch by the club. That one will feel like a proper European game after the warm ups against Crusaders and Pyunik.

Reflecting on last night our conversation at half time was ‘why are we here’ as Wolves appeared to be just going through the motions with a 4 goal lead. But the second half was really encouraging with Neto, Crutone, Traore, MGW, Kilman, Vinagre and Vallejo all showing they can have a part to play in our season. I still think we are one midfield player short but apart from that it suddenly looks as though we have a deeper squad than last season. And after the signings of Jota and Boly where most people were saying ‘who are they’ it looks like Jorge has found us another unknown gem in Neto

Very good team we have now, and surely they can only get better when you look at the age of our squad;

Neto 19
Gibbs White 19
Vinagre 20
Jordao 20
Cutrone 21
Neves 22
Vallejo 22
Jota 22
Traore 23

As a result of getting through to the next round of the Europa, the home game against Burnley now put back to Sunday 25th August at 16:30. That game and the Man Utd game already sold out

I believe that Bruno Jordao is the "one midfield player" that you think we're short of DJ. He's the final piece of the jigsaw, but just not quite ready yet.

Every chance we'll see him in the coming weeks though.

posted on 16/8/19

Be great if that turns out to be the case lone. Maybe we will see him in the Carabao Cup

posted on 16/8/19

Thought Jordao might have been on the bench last night, would have been the perfect opportunity to chuck him in to the fray. However I can understand why Nuno went with the strong bench.
