Just seen Gary Mac's comments on Rangers transfer business.
"If someone becomes available and they can make a difference we will always be interested
If you look at our squad we have plenty of cover, unless someone really jumps at us we are happy"
I know what it says but i read it as we haven't given up on Kent. He wants to come to us, Liverpool want to sell him and we are a tie away from boosting the bank balance.
Anyone else think this could be the plan?

If we hadn't signed Helander for 3m, we could have pushed the boat out surely.

LB is the only position i worry about too.
I don't want to write Barasic off but he's a fearty. No matter the talent he'll get nowhere in Scotland unless he toughens up.
Flanagan is good defensively but is scared to go much further than half way and being right footed isn't ideal.
Halliday imo is back up to the back up. Most important role for him is as cheerleader

I would cut our losses and sell Barisic now if we can get around £2m for him.
Thing is if he wasn't getting a game for Croatia we would all have decided a long time ago we had bought a pup.
His international success has bought him a lot of leeway with the fans.
But aye - he is being kept out by a RB playing out of position which isnt great.
It isn't a disaster though - I don't think having Flanno there would be the critical factor that cost us the league.

I have never been that bothered either.
Certainly nowhere near £10m bothered.
He was 'almost' a superstar player for me but that final pass, shot, cross etc was too often not quite there.
He had a couple of good games against celtic and that upped his value in the fans eyes.
He is supposedly a nightmare to play against which is how he landed his young POTY award voted for by his peers.
That said I would much rather have Kent than Barker now though. He would settle in right away and knows what to expect - I think he would be better with creative pressure off him a bit now Ojo and Aribo are in there.
Plus he would at least bring a wee bit of a fear factor against celtic - a bit of a talisman if nothing else.
