Dexter was another one that dragged on too long and the end of the series was horrendous.

The zombie outbreak storyline is such a limited one.
--------
Yet they have managed to get two spin off shows and 3 movies on the go as well as 10 series of the original

Even the comic book has ended, I think?

Quality not quantity.

Anyone watching The Boys?

Started last night, strong start!

The Boys is one of the best series I've watched for a while.

They've actually toned it down a lot from the comics believe it or not

Tons of fun. Sort of distant cousin of Watchmen, but very original too. Supes like they oughter be.

I enjoy stuff like Luther and Taboo, but the modern waiting time between series is getting ridiculous. I forget most of the nuances and struggle to get back into them.

Britannia is another one.

I initially watched Heroes, but got bored of it, so can't comment if it was cancelled too early. From what I remember it was probably cancelled too late.

What I will say is that Heroes was basically a rip off of another show that was definitely cancelled too early - The 4400. Anyone else watch that? It was about 4400 missing people that had vanished over the last 50 years or so, that suddenly all reappeared on the same day, but none of them had aged. Some of them had special powers. The series never really concluded though.

Absolutely gutted that the OA got cancelled. Was quite trippy and original.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Aspects of OA intensely annoyed me. The finale of season 1 felt like a huge betrayal of everything we'd invested in the story... and the way that was conveniently resolved in season 2 made the betrayal pointless. Season 2 was flawed in many ways, spinning increasingly self-indulgent webs at the price of giving less of the core relationships at the heart of the show. And nothing was more self-indulgent and disappointing than breaking the fourth wall at the end of season 2. But if they'd have made a third season, I'd have dropped everything else to watch it straight away.

I think that with a lot of these shows they start off really well, but then kind of get lost as there is no written ending for them. They just try to milk the series and it ends up getting wishy washy. Much rather see a series that is planned from the off and has a satisfied ending.

Yep, got bored of OA and sacked it off.

What was the Australian series about the cop whose wife (amongst others) came back from the dead? That was decent.

Heroes suffered when there were strikes if I remember right.

I was probably one of a few who loved Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles. Bloody fuming when it got cancelled.

I stopped watching the Walking Dead when zombies outran a tiger. Should have stopped earlier when the plot turned from finding answers and solving them to just surviving.

Seriously, they've enust finished the second series.

I found Heroes to be quite similar to the 90s X-Men cartoon I watched as a kid.

The recent Dirk Gently didn't get a third series.

I find that a lot of American shows tend to drag on, even when it is no longer good. I prefer shows that end 2(3 series in. 5 max.

Yep, another that I got bored of. I was superb at the start. But it is just same same now. As you say, you want some kind of payoff for investing all that time. Just doesn't seem like there is any kind of ending in sight. Also frustrates the hell out of me that they don't seem to have any plan on where to find ultimate safety. Surely the sensible option is to head to an island that has capabilities to be self sustainable and clear off all the zombies?

Yeah but when somebody dies, they turn.

The plan should be on finding the bloody reason it all happened and subsequently how to cure it ffs! When we had that in the first two seasons I was interested. When that left, I couldn't give a crap anymore.
