He's given almost his entire professional life to our club, I think you are being totally disrespectful BV.
He's seen as a legend because he's a proper pro, he doesn't complain, does everything asked of him and gives his all for Leicester City.
Maybe this is something you cannot identify with, as you are always disrespecting other people's opinions on here.
Kingy, legend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Zzzzzzzzzz.......
Booooooring. So if you don’t complain that makes you a legend does it? Jesus - lets get a statue of Ian Ormondyoyd up.....
Loads of players have given their all for Leicester - he just hasn’t been good enough to get a permanent move away. Let’s not pretend he’s like Vardy who actually turned down a move to a much bigger club after being a key player in the most amazing season we have ever had
You need to grow up Foxy Boy and stop taking my refusal to agree that Andy King is some kind of mythical Leicester hero so personally. I’m entitled to that view - you’re entitled to think he’s the greatest thing since the wheel was invented.
I’m also entitled to think you’re a jumped up little halfwit
By the way Foxy - if you don’t like what I write, filter me. It’s that simple, you’ve had an issue with me for months - or do you need me to do it for you?
Everyone has an issue with you don't they? Everywhere you go, right?

No not really. I’ve been conversing with Dunge, Mersey, YH etc just fine this evening. I might strongly disagree but that’s all, you’re the first person on hthis thread to actually take it further
I’ve noticed you still haven’t hit the filter button, which means you’re looking for an argument when there really isn’t one?
Either just accept the way I debate, or don’t - entirely up to you

Erm......he’s good in the air. And he’s been here a long time. And......no that’s it
Look in all seriousness, I’m grateful for his contributions while in league 1 and the championship - i just don’t agree with the legendary status that’s all. I think Vardy and others are more deserving but that’s just me
We’re now in to the “legend” debate.
Legend status isn’t just about ability. If that were the case Steve Walsh wouldn’t get near, whereas for me he’s one of the greatest Leicester legend.
Shaun Goater is a legend at Man City, but do you think their fans believe he’s better than Aguero?
I understand your views BS, and I think your biggest issue is like mine with Cold Play. I hate them because everyone used to bang on about how good they were. Yes they were alright but they were hardly the Beatles - shut up!
Now everyone hates them, so maybe you just need to give your argument time.
Ps. Ormondroyd falls in to the cult hero category, not legend. Everyone knows that!
Good luck with your game today. I have you down to win 2-0 in the prediction league so don't let me down boys.

Yeah I do get that legend isn’t just about ability and that’s actually one of the reasons Vardy comfortably gets the nod ahead of King - and of course Steve Walsh.
Steve Walsh has blue blood, he was so committed to leicester it was unbelievable. That makes him a legend regardless of his ability (which wasn’t great). Andy King has by contrast, been here for ages and co tributes well but that’s it - massive difference. Wouldn’t you agree?
And yeah I thought Coldplay were overrated as well
Steve Walsh and Andy King have different personalities but if you’re looking for people who “bleed blue”, they both fall into that category. I get that some people identify more with the likes of Walsh and Vardy because of their feisty nature; what I’m saying is: Is it not ok for others to see King as a legend when he has a more polite and non-confrontational nature?
Football these days has become a transient sort of game. Even in central midfield over recent seasons, we’ve had Cambiasso and Kante, two players who came for just one season but made such an impact that they will be remembered positively by many for a long time; they are legends of sorts.
But over the last twelve years or so, we’ve had the biggest highs and biggest lows we’ve ever experienced as a football club. We were relegated to the third tier for the first time in our history and therefore, even though we won it, essentially got out worst ever league finish in the club’s history. We then worked our way up through the craziness of the Sven era and his gang of high-paid muppets and John Pantsil doing a lap of honour after a routine win to getting promoted back to the Premier League and remarkably winning it. It’s been a crazy journey for the fans and the club, and youth product Andy King is the one who has been there with us the whole way. I don’t recall him ever standing out or winning player of the year, but I have seen him giving absolutely everything he has for the club in its most important moments - end-of-season matches, playoffs, matches in the great escape, matches in the title-winning season (25 league appearances, so hardly a bit-part player). And all this while never looking for a move when he had the chance and never wanting to wear anything else other than a Leicester shirt.
To dismiss that as “he’s just been here a long time” is unfair. Aside from the fact that Steve Walsh was willing to smash his enemies’ faces in (Steve Bull in particular), I don’t see a great deal of difference between them.
Incidentally, now we’ve brought up Steve Walsh I figure it’s only a matter of time before Nev pops up and tells us we’re both wrong.

I couldn’t disagree more. Walsh and Vardy give/gave everything on the pitch almost every time - I just don’t see King in that category.
You’re still missing the point if you think I prefer Vardy simply because of his personality. It’s his unwillingness to give up on the pitch, his sheer talent, his contribution (which has been far far greater than King) and his loyalty. King has never been tempted with a move to a big club - you have no idea whether he would have been here for 2 years if he had have had the opportunity. He was too unproven when we got relegated.
No it’s far more than personality - being a legend means bleeding for the cause, contributing significantly to something special (which king hasn’t really done) and doing more than simply just being here for a long long time
Good post Dunge, and one I agree entirely with. Are you a Joby in disguise?
Let me illustrate with legend status bullet points -
1. Talent - Does said player have natural talent that stands him and head and shoulders above other Leicester players of bygone eras?
2. Commitment - Does said player show commitment and desire on the pitch over and above other Leicester players of current and historic eras?
3. Contribution - Has said player contributed in a major way to something significant for the club - e,g a trophy. It has to be silverware for me, we have won the second division loads of times. Great escape could be counted as well. Contribution can’t be defined as sub appearances for me - needs to be playing regularly and scoring or assisting
4. Loyalty - Has said player stayed at the club when other opportunities to leave have come OR has said player made a significant number of appearances?
For me, you need 3 of those 4 criteria (rarely will someone hit 4) to be a Leicester legend.
Now I’m sure there will be the odd player that you can think of that ticks 3 of those 4 (someone is bound to suggest David Speedie or something.....) but that would be my criteria
I just don’t see a statue of Andy King knocking the ball sideways being unveiled anytime soon
By the way your 25 league appearances in the PL Dunge is a misleading way of using a stat to back up a point. You and I both know King has been a bit part player since we got promoted - no way you could argue he has been a significant contributor

There’s no better footballing metaphor of Coldplay than Andy king. Safe, unspectacular, been around for ages, overrated
Surely Andy King ticks points 3 and 4 on your list BS?
Won League 1, Championship and Premier League with us. Not only has no other Leicester player done that, no player has EVER done that with one club.
Even Coldplay had the odd good song!
Both are legends because they did legendary things King will be at least LCFC ambassador for life for how he has conducted himself of the pitch Walsh not so imo.
The only Critism i can lay at his door is rather than take himself to pastures new when the last three or four managers have seen him surplus to requirements to then blame Puel for blocking him out is a bit disingenuous.

No he absolutely doesn’t because he didn’t make a significant contribution to winning the premier league - check point 3 again Mersey!
Like I’ve said before - he has that extraordinary record (won all 3 leagues) through simply being here for such a long time- not because he actually made a significant contribution to us winning the PL
He’s been a good servant but club legend? Not even close
Also I’m not sure on point 2 - don’t think he shows commitment over and above other Leicester players. Not like Vardy or Walsh for me but I appreciate that’s subjective. Nevertheless he fails on point 3 - we have won the second division loads of times and he just didn’t play enough to make a significant contribution to the PL win or even great escape. Just been part of the furniture for a long time, but done what’s required when called upon
When Andy King comes on as a sub, I always thought how will this improve us? I will leave that there......
I don’t believe commitment is all about the kind of blood and thunder approach of Walsh and Vardy. I’ve seen King give everything he has for the shirt, particularly at the end of Championship seasons and the great escape. So for me he meets 2 and 4 easily. 1, obviously not. 3, debatable although I don’t think can be disregarded. And I disagree that the appearance count in the title winning season is insignificant. Even players like Nathan Dyer and Ritchie de Laet provided moments in that with far fewer appearances. (Ironically for the two I mention, both in the same game.) While I wouldn’t class either as legends, they were still part of something legendary.
Anyone with King’s length of service has the chance to rack up points in terms of accomplishments, moments, etc. But I don’t think that can be judged per annum - it’s a genuine accumulation over the years. There are some hidden criteria within this, effectively equating to head and heart: A; has the player represented the club well? (That can be in a variety of ways). B; has the player provided good memories and experiences in his time at the club? These criteria are where King gets truly elevated over the likes of Conrad Logan. King has seen it all and been through it all, from relegation to League 1 to European nights. And he’s been thoroughly nice and approachable throughout - a fine ambassador for the club. Which, as Nev says, I can easily see being his calling 5 or so years from now.
Sorry Dunge - any argument for Andy King making a significant contribution to our PL title win is scraping the barrel. To try and use his 20 odd mainly substitute appearances as proof just looks desperate - and as for trying to bring Nathan Dyer into the argument, that’s another level of hopeful.
