Poch said he does not like these international tournaments for pre season friendlies finds it disruptive. he prefers working with his players at home.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch needs to stop with the excuses now, and get the team playing more high octane footie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How does a manager do that if they don't have them available to work with and implement ideas?
It was just his comments during pre season not an excuse for the poor start.

We defo need to give it time and to allow the likes of NDombele & LoCelso time to find their feet.... I think/hope both will come good... I trust poch's judgement of players and it was clear he really wanted both. Saturday showed up the gap in class between the best in the league and us. While both Sissoko and Winks have their strengths they are both limited in terms of their football ability. Sissoko is all power, pace & direct running but lacks the vision and technique to make the ball do the work and get the ball to the likes of Kane, Moura & Eriksen in dangerous areas. Winks, while being nice and tidy is not a great athlete has no pace and for all the completed passes, its all sideways, short and in areas that don't hurt the opposition. Compare that to the likes of KDB, Both Silva's, Rodrigo all of who'm have that great mix of technique and physical attributes. Looking at the 2 games this season tells you everything you need to know about Spurs. A half ar5sed and disinterested Eriksen was the only guy capable of getting the ball to Kane to hurt Villa and on Saturday we simply didn't have the the technique to play with City.
Things will improve, the new signings need time, Getting Dele and Sonny back with help but if Spurs expect to progress from where they were 12 months ago then we cant have Sissoko & Winks in the same team.... Good players..... yes of course, but capable of changing a game against the best or breaking down teams coming for a point..... no !

Not disputing mate that it wasn`t a great point, if extremely lucky. It is just the performance levels are not there. Last week against Villa was poor as well, it took Spurs 70 minutes last week to break down newly promoted Villa`s defence, whereas Bournemouth dismantled them twice in the first ten minutes at the weekend.

Totally agree. Should be taking someones hand off for 2-2. Although we have played better up there in the past, anyone who thinks Spurs can compete on equal terms with City clearly don't understand the rules of the food chain. They are ( due entirely to money ) several levels above us, but the good thing is that it is the same for the rest of our realistic rivals too.
We played well there last season and lost.
Podcast I was listening too spoke of Madrid prepared to offer 75 mill for Eriksen
Preparing ? Always sounds like bs when they use that word.
Don't really get the point about taking seventy minutes to score against Villa, Sandy. We scored three against them in ninety minutes and that's all that matters. If we score three in the rest of our games this season, we'll win the league. It doesn't matter when they're scored.

I think Eriksen will end up at Madrid this month, not because he's their top target but because United's determination to keep Pogba is that much greater than ours to keep Eriksen. I can see it being the last day of the Window for 60mln or so, leaving Levy with no wiggle room

I think the stories of 60 to 75 mil are incredibly optimistic. If Real are the only team intrested coupled with fact he can leave for nothing in a year then I think 40mil will be more realistic.
He's an odd facker, he played like he had something to prove against Villa but looked completely disinterested against City.
whats strange with Eriksen is that so many others have had their contracts restructured over the past 3-4 years, he wasn't on big money to begin with, Age isn't an issue and we have brought players in on more. Agreed..... He's defo played his hand strangely.... Nothing wrong with wanting a new challenge/ more money but just come out and say so. Deciding to play his worst football in 5 years in the middle of all this is an odd way to attract attention when you know Pogba is ZZ's number 1 target.... all very weird
How was he disinterested in the game against City ffs?

I think the stories of 60 to 75 mil are incredibly optimistic. If Real are the only team intrested coupled with fact he can leave for nothing in a year then I think 40mil will be more realistic.
He's an odd facker, he played like he had something to prove against Villa but looked completely disinterested against City.

Agreed..... He's defo played his hand strangely.... Nothing wrong with wanting a new challenge/ more money but just come out and say so. Deciding to play his worst football in 5 years in the middle of all this is an odd way to attract attention when you know Pogba is ZZ's number 1 target.... all very weird
