Good to see CHO back in training,
as for top scorer for the season,
I'm going for Pulisic.

Pedro wasn't very good vs Leicester either. Far too often goes backwards and loses the ball.

He didn't once attempt to dribble past Fuchs.

Quicker CHO is back the better and the same for RJ at RB.

Thought pedro was better against utd than he was against leicester. utd he gave away the ball alot but his pressing and driving forward was good, atleast in first half. Leicester he looked tired

Giroud will be your top scorer.

Anyone is possible for top scorer because I struggle seeing them getting into double figures.

Our top scorer will probably be a penalty taker.

Can't fault Pedro's attitude and work rate.

Him and Azpi just don't do enough for me on the right hand side. Pedro likes going on the inside and rarely takes on the opposition fullback. Azpi has his problems going forward as well highlighted.

CHO will add something different - pace, ability to take on a man & crossing as we seem to get more numbers in the box of late.

Cal Hudson-Odoi will cope just fine with way Frank wants the team to press. Spent years being successful at doing this, under Jody.

The sooner he's fit, the better.
Can't stomach another season of Willian' tunnel vision and general underperformance/inept play.

Cal is twelve years his junior and already has much better decision-making, depth and variation to his play in the final third.

Plumping for Tammy as top scorer.

I dunno about his pressing, haven't seen enough to judge, but he should help the pace in which Lampard likes to attack.

I can see why Frank prefers Pedro over Willian, all three of the attacking trident need to be snap decision makers/must be able to manipulate tight spaces (i.e. be like Lampard in many ways) and Pedro's always been class at that. But he's not got that urgency about him like he did when he was younger, the tempo seems a bit too quick for him. Going off last season, CHO's not the most creative mover (prefers to take people on than maneuver around them) but he is dynamic and decisive. If Pulisic provided the movement on the left the contrast could work with Callum on the right.

posted on 21/8/19

Yep.
One glaring attribute Cal can exponentially improve is the timing of his movements off the ball (behind defences).

Apart from that...Frank bang on the money, when he echoed my thoughts by stating "Hudson-Odoi has all the attributes to play and make similar statements on the world scene as we are seeing with Sancho".

Never a truer word spoken and I'm glad Cal now has the management that will empower and allow him to fully display his outstanding skillset.

Injection of pace and directness will soon be put to very good use.

Is there a fanbase that writes off players as quickly as some of our fans do ??

posted on 21/8/19

the same people criticising my OPINION seem to be them that not so long ago wrote off michy after not so many more games but comparing an international player from a recognized European team to one who has only so far shown it at div 1 level.

I've never thought of him as being that blessed with pace. He's not slow but I haven't previously considered him a whippet either.

What is is very good at, in my opinion, is stealing a yard from a defender and making himself room to whip a good cross in.

I think that Tammy might thrive when Cho is back in the side and making those penetrating runs down the flanks with good delivery into the box. Not only will be make space for Tammy by dragging defenders away from him but he'll help give Tammy the quality of delivery he hasn't received so far.

vava not really sure what your comment means tbh, who wrote off michy? And the reason your OPINION is being questioned is because the sample size to judge him is too small. He was inches away from a goal against utd and has far from flopped in his appearances so far.

I do understand skepticism where Abraham's concerned. Where players like Mount, CHO, RLC, etc... are concerned, all are on upward trajectories. Abraham's going to be judged a bit harsher because there's a fair perception that he might just be a Championship striker, he left no impression in the PL at Swansea.

Of all of our youngsters this year the transfer ban might wind up hurting Abraham rather than benefiting him. He'd have been an ideal 2nd/3rd choice to slowly blood through with sub appearances, and unlike others he probably would've got that opportunity without the ban in effect.

Tbf devil he can still be 2nd or 3rd but depends how much faith frank has in any of our strikers!

Very good point, but I also think it’s an unfair view of him, or at least fans should take into consideration context for his Swansea loan. He was still their top scorer, and it was an awful team who struggled for goals all round. Giroud, for instance, would do no better at Swansea that season.
