Bernardo Silva?
You gotta be kidding me.
Messi
VVD
Salah
Kane
Mbappe
Mane wasn't that good for the first half of last season and so misses out. If he can keep current form for the whole season he could be top 3. He's better than Salah at the moment IMO but Salah is consistent.
Messi
Ronaldo
KDB
Hazard
Aguero
This is one of those matters that are different based on each one's personal experience and most likely how narrow is their choice.
Saying VdV, Mane and Salah is an example of how narrow the choices the OP has in his range of players that impressed.
There is no right or wrong reason, but can you seriously consider such a list without players like Ronaldo (Juve) who has won everything many times over and multiple leagues that Salah, Mane and VdV have yet to win?
Or players like Sergio Busquet (Barcelona), Thiago Silva (PSG) or even Gareth Bale, who won Spanish titles and the CL and scored one of the best CL final goals against the team who had VdV, Salah and Mane
Shows you how the choices given by the OP are very narrow.
The OP clearly is about top 5 at the moment so what does Ronaldo winning titles in the past have to do with it?
Top 5 for me..
Messi
Ronaldo
Mane
Salah
Mbappe
Honourable mentions to VVD, Neymar, Kante and Hazard
Actually wanna swap Ronaldo for Sterling - a sentence I bet no one ever thought they’d say
Ederson
VVD
De Bruyne
Messi
Kane
Based on picking a fantasy 5-a-side team.
De Gea
Maguire
Pogba
Rashford
Rooney

Well I didnt actually commit but what you have there is 3 CL winners, the premier leagues top two scorer (one for the second time) and arguably the best cb in the game who were all part of a 97 point team. It's not exactly mental.

OP asked for top 5 players overall, not top 5 players in the Ropey league.

Mane wasn’t that good in the first half of the season?
Harsh. He had a phenomenal season which admittedly skyrocketed in the latter months and the entire team had a ropey spell at the end of September but to say that he wasn’t that good is crazy.
Also, Kane ahead of Mane for last year? Bonkers.
I didn't say he wasn't any good. I said he wasn't that good. This obviously indicates comparison with other players and also in comparison to his current form. However, it seems the stats back me up.

In the second half of the season Mane scored nearly twice as many goals as the first half of the season. That pretty much settles it.
What is your basis for saying my comment is crazy?

I didn't put Mane behind Kane. I just named 5 players in no particular order.
Please read the OP again. There is no requirement for the order in which you name players. If there was I'd have Mane ahead of Kane for 2019.
mane > salah imo. both great though
Messi
Ronaldo
Mbappe
Hazard
Modric
