Bit of a leap for me to be called racist as KFC seems to be obsessed with labelling me which is amusing and also tragic
As Winston says, it's unfair to call anyone who criticises her a racist but it's also hard to believe the incredible and widespread levels of hostility towards her have nothing to do with her race. Most of the country doesn't have much intimate knowledge of her, so their perceptions are filtered through media, much of which in turn relies on clichés and stereotypical thinking - and, let's be honest, a number of our major newspapers habitually deal in racist tropes.
I also find the 'ruthless social-climbing predator' perception a bit problematic. Anyone not from the upper crust who marries a royal is by definition a social climber. Are we saying that the uppity woman should have known her place?
Finally, on the hypocrisy thing, I'm again with Winston. We're all hypocrites unless we are nihilists. The world desperately needs more flawed people shouting out about the climate crisis, and fewer nihilists carping on about how fake Meghan is (and Greta for that matter).

Let's compare and contrast.
From my limited knowledge about the royal family (I generally don't care either way), Meghan Markle started dating Harry after they were set up by a mutual friend, they fell in love, got married, living happily ever after.
Kate Middleton deliberately chose to go to St Andrews University because Prince William was going there - someone she had never met before - and went to uni with the intention of snaring a prince. She rejected her first choice Uni solely so she could try to get William.
One of them is vilified as a social climber, the other is a sweet English rose who is apparently loved by the nation.
Anyone want to explain that to me?

I really don't get how someone who would support Sanders would even consider lending support to Trump, even as a lesser evil. It was obvious in 2016 that he was a bigot and narcissist, that some of the positions he advocated pointed in an authoritarian, nationalist direction that would put him in conflict with the rule of law. It was obvious that his economic politics saw him standing with the oligarchy (with distractions for his poor voters like blaming Mexicans and China). And he had a long, documented history of dodgy deals, stiffing contractors and lying, lying, lying.
Clinton had dirt around her, as would anyone who had survived at the top end of US politics for the last 25 years; she was also hounded by the right-wing attack dogs throughout that period, with well-funded research teams overturning every stone she'd touched in search of something incriminating. They never found anything that could see her prosecuted, but they released innuendos and accusations at every turn, which created this sense of 'no smoke without fire'. She was undoubtedly morally compromised by playing the game. I see very little evidence that she was corrupt in a legal sense or relative to other major political figures - let alone in comparison to Trump's horrendously undemocratic blurring of business and public service.
Don't read this as an attack on you personally. The reason the issue animates me is that millions of people felt the same way. People who voted Obama and Trump. And Sanders supporters who stayed at home while Trump's small town base turned out in droves to elect a man who will end constitutional democracy in America if he gets the chance.

Its a recipe for disaster and will inevitable end in tears. But yet a dream for media editors who have already planted the seed in our minds that she will cause untold havoc to our Royal family. The narrative has been set. Enjoy.

She is obviously totally unsuitable to be a member of the Royal family and the 'Establishment' wouldn't have entertained her 40 years ago. She's Wallis Simpson mark 2.
But these are modern times and antiquated institutions such as the Monarchy have to be seen to embrace them. Prince Philip must have had a fit when Harry brought her home. A pushy manipulating yank bint, black and and a C list soap-star actress with dubious parents. Not a patch on the fragrant, white, English Rose Kate who can do no wrong.
Its a recipe for disaster and will inevitable end in tears. But yet a dream for media editors who have already planted the seed in our minds that she will cause untold havoc to our Royal family. The narrative has been set. Enjoy.

Not a politics man and it looks like trump is every bit a bigot as people claim, but has his time as president been that bad? Hasn't he strengthened their economy etc?
