Not a politics man and it looks like trump is every bit a bigot as people claim, but has his time as president been that bad? Hasn't he strengthened their economy etc?

Any knowledge from you guys on the topic would be appreciated?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. Obama’s work did that, trump is just getting the benefit, and claiming he did it- which is a downright lie. He does a lot of that..

Gave tax cuts to the rich (him and his mates).
Pulled out of Iran nuclear deal (stupid)
Pulled out of climate change m, denying it’s even a thing.
Promised loads of jobs, hardly any got created.
Started a mn economic war with China.
Many more. The man is an utter disaster, a dangerous idiot.

Complete nonsense, he's heading into a recession that's why he keeps tweeting the federal reserve asking for them to lower interest rates.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
atleast maybe that'll mean the pound will be stronger against the dollar?

Why's the economy struggling so much over there? I thought that employment was at a high % atm.

Inevitably there will be rascists who criticise her but that shouldn't mean that non rascists are scared to do so. She is an actress staring in a real life drama and loving every minute of it.

Let's compare and contrast.

From my limited knowledge about the royal family (I generally don't care either way), Meghan Markle started dating Harry after they were set up by a mutual friend, they fell in love, got married, living happily ever after.

Kate Middleton deliberately chose to go to St Andrews University because Prince William was going there - someone she had never met before - and went to uni with the intention of snaring a prince. She rejected her first choice Uni solely so she could try to get William.

One of them is vilified as a social climber, the other is a sweet English rose who is apparently loved by the nation.

Anyone want to explain that to me?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How much did Markles baby shower cost? Wallis Simpson 2 I'll wager.

I'm no fan of Kates either but I believe shes better suited to the roll.

He inherited a strong economy that continued to rise with him as president, but it has since stalled and is heading towards recession unless something changes. Main reasons being his tax cuts for the rich and his tariff wars with China.

He had a very solid foundation from Obama, but has done well to continue that rise... But... You have to look at the practises used to achieve it... Insane levels of debt (after promising to reduce the deficit) and huge reductions in environmental rep tape, allowing big business to really go to town destroying the planet.

She is obviously totally unsuitable to be a member of the Royal family and the 'Establishment' wouldn't have entertained her 40 years ago. She's Wallis Simpson mark 2.

But these are modern times and antiquated institutions such as the Monarchy have to be seen to embrace them. Prince Philip must have had a fit when Harry brought her home. A pushy manipulating yank bint, black and and a C list soap-star actress with dubious parents. Not a patch on the fragrant, white, English Rose Kate who can do no wrong.

Its a recipe for disaster and will inevitable end in tears. But yet a dream for media editors who have already planted the seed in our minds that she will cause untold havoc to our Royal family. The narrative has been set. Enjoy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Will has been shafting another woman anyway and it's being kept out of the papers.

Someone more naturally snooty that Kate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you even know that?

Foreign media were running stories on it. Google it and you should find it.

Kate has banned Will from seeing the woman, who is in another couple that they often spent time with.

btw - if harry and his bit stop having kids now, their footprint will be way lower than William and his bit. He's the bigger hypocrite, as of now, talking about environmental issues while his missus was shatting out 3 kids.

Inevitably.

The Germans are pretty much there already, only a matter of time before we all get hit.

Terrible news or equally great news if you have cash in the bank.

First up, I had no idea who she was two years ago.

Secondly I am indifferent to the Royals. There are only a few I have any time for and Harry is top of the list of the ones I do.

Thirdly, it isn't racist to criticise someone unless you are using their race to do so.

What makes the OP think she's a chancer?

I'll be honest, I don't follow the news about the royals and don't know how many kids they have, but it seems ridiculous to me about how much rubbish is worn about them. Everyday there is some article about them when I'm browsing the Web. Luckily I don't care so don't read them. Though since the OP feels strongly about this, I'd liked to know why.

First of all the economy:

Obama dealt with the great recession and banking crisis inherited from Bush and handed over an economy that was growing and in good shape. It was projected that it would continue to do so. Trump did what all Republican presidents (funded by corporate entities) want to do by slashing taxes on the super-rich. They say this will boost the economy for everyone. What it actually does (every time it is tried) is stimulate short-term growth, primarily benefiting the very wealthy, before leading to a crash. Economic commentators have been pointing to increasing signs that the US economy is heading for a recession over the last few weeks. The tax cuts have also created a huge deficit.

But even if the economic policies were sound, the price would be incredibly high.

- He lies multiple times a day, in a way no previous president would have dared to. He gets away with it because his base watches media that doesn't call him out, while for everyone else it becomes normalised. Telling the truth is no longer a prerequisite in politics.
- This contempt for the truth is reflected in policies that have no connection with reality. Climate change: restricting public access to scientific assessments, gagging government scientists, underpinning policies that roll back environmental policies. Migration: building a symbolic wall based on both exaggerations and lies about the amount of crime associated with migrants, and misrepresenting data that shows that the vast majority of the legal and illegal inflows they want to stop go through actual border crossings.
- Demonising opponents and minorities with lies and violent rhetoric. We've already had a few mass shootings and assassination attempts carried out by people who turned out to be inspired by Trump's attempts to whip up fear and anger against the enemy.
- Weakening the rule of law and separation of powers. Attacking the authority of judges and Congress when they challenge him. Obstruction of investigations into his actions; demanding 'personal loyalty' from the head of the FBI, and publicly denouncing public servants in the FBI as carrying out a witch-hunt against him. Refusing to release his tax returns when formally requested by a House of Representatives committee.
- Unprecedented conflicts of interest, corrupt practises and nepotism in relation to running the family business while President. Having foreign dignitaries stay at the Trump hotel in Washington.
- Praise for dictators around the world; contemptuous remarks about long-standing democratic allies.
- Personally flawed character: narcissistic, intellectually lazy, dishonest, volatile, lacking in caution, short attention span.

He has gone further than I expected down the path of dismantling the basics of American democracy, not because I thought he wouldn't want to, but because I thought the institutions would prevent him. It turns out that the institutions are only as strong as the people inside them, and the Republican Senate (and until the mid-term elections Republican House) has backed him all the way. This is a dangerous moment.

...............

A lack of understanding of what a chancer is probably.

Let's be serious, this bit from the OP was Robb being a drama queen again.

"because we’ve seen Meghan climb through social circles like some sort of ruthless predator and now she’s in a position of power".

posted on 22/8/19

I'm not a royalist so I don't really care much for their institution. However, I do think Harry and William seem like decent people. I'd hate their life but with great privilege comes a lack of privacy.

On Meghan Markle I'd say it's OK to criticise as long as you'd think it right to criticise anyone else showing the same behaviour. It's not racist to criticise a black person but some of the criticism may come from a racist perspective.

No, Trump has turned out worse than I thought he would.

..................

This is why you should not comment on things you know nothing about.

It wasn't hard for anyone with an iota of common sense to determine Trump was a liar, a conman, a bigot, a racist, a sexist and suffered from multiple 'ism' issues.
