That was Fowler’s way of winding up someone clearly his intellectual superior, le saux got a lot of abuse for reading broadsheet newspapers from other players during his career, not surprised that thick idiot fowler thought that was a good wum.

Robbing, as with racial abuse, the issue isn't so much how the multimillionaire football copes with the incident, but how it impacts on other people who belong to that discriminated-against section of the population. At the time I too was about 18 and found it funny. Looking back, I imagine if I'd been gay, seeing that take place in public to general amusement - homophobic mockery in a sport where no one felt safe to come out - I'd have felt all the more marginalised.

We grow up and move on, and in retrospect that feels like the thing I laughed at was pretty cunntish.

Id not laugh now I dont think. Bit of a SJW in fact. I was just chatting about Fowler sniffing the line and it reminded me of that. Im just going to have to live with it I guess.

We had a gay lad in our Sunday league side, our group had been playing together since our late teens/early twenties and he came out after about 4 seasons with us, some went to school with him too. He'd had the odd one night stand with women when we'd had nights out etc, no one had a clue

We had a few in our side and no-one gave a sh!t. In fact the lb and rb were sleeping together I believe.

When I was nursing any NHS side had a few. Sports a tough environment at times though.
