Joaquin Phoenix?
(Only because I saw him mentioned elsewhere) but he’s been pretty good on a few films?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Joker film looks fecking epic going off the trailers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, yet another overhyped superhero nonsense, but I’ll reserve judgement til I’ve seen it. Most superhero films suffer the same overhype, only a few are any good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
technically this is a super villain film
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As I say, reserve judgement. They all fall into the same predictability and stylised nonsense (think avengers when the camera pans round them making shapes and looking moody).

No Tom Cruise? Very underrated actor who’s held his own with Nicholson, Hoffman and had one of the best performances of the last 30 years in Magnolia.
‘Respect the đ ‘
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tom cruise
Most overrated actor ever. He basically just resorts to shouting to try and steal a scene. He’s facking terrible and isn’t fit to be a fluffer
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i think nicholas cage has made better films than tom. con air and lord of war maybe?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cage doesn’t even bother now, he’ll take any role and deliver minimal effort. I rate the Rock more highly as an actor.
Avengers is the first superhero film I've enjoyed since Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy

Actually quite like the rock, he’s no great actor but he’s branched our a little.

You did a list of all time greatest actors and didn't include the greatest ever
Tom Hanks
Shame on you
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Added, is he not?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wasn't in the original list
He us the greatest actor imo
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Great actor, no doubt. Just don’t enjoy watching him as much as others. Just my opinion though.

Though most of avengers films were crap, the 2nd last one being good if forgettable and I haven’t seen the last. Nolan’s Batman however was excellent.

So did Batman vs Superman.....look how that turned out
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I mean i thought that looked like garbage
Atleast this film looks different, problem now with superhero films is just how samey a lot can feel
----------------------------------------------------------------------
From what I’ve seen of the trailers they seem to have taken some inspiration from Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't be any worse than Jared Leto's interpretation

The dark knight pretty much changed the face of superhero movies. Everyone upped their game as free that. From looking at the trailing they appear to have combined the origin story with the darkness of Ledgers character.

Is tom hardy really that level yet?
Dont get me wrong he's great
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think so. Only my opinion though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he'd be top of mine already, i love a lot of them like De Niro but hes proper cashed out and done some awful films recently
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure on Tom Hardy he seems to play the same role in a lot of films and is a bit one dimensional. He does play that role well though to be fair.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
hes played some tough roles tbf, and thinking of the one where hes in the car just him on the phone, locke was it? and he played the facking psycho dude bronson? dno how thats one dimensional maybe watch some more of his stuff? warrior hes great in too with joel edgerton is it?
and as im reminded of locke what about farrel? phone booth is underrated imo its just him in a facking phone box i think he does well, hes in a few with pacino and such too cant remember off the top of my head.
Come to think of it my fave cruise film is the one with jamie foxx as a cabbie.
Can I mention Bob Hoskins again. Not Hollywood but great.
One of my favourite performances is Michael Gambon in Layer Cake - absolutely captivating.
Actresses - Laura Dern is good in the Lynch films. Kiera Knightly when she’s more serious, like in Atonement.
Very underrated Tom Hardy role is this interesting little movie called Locke - check it out

That’s a great movie layer cake. Loved the way they put that together. And gambon was decent in it too.
I thought Locke was gonna be fecking boring but it's probably one of the best films I've enjoyed watching, 2 hours of a bloke driving in a car and talking to his missus seemed to peak my interest a lot.
