Jack Nicholson as Sam Torrance in “The Shining” takes some beating
Di Caprio is overrated. Sure he is competent and somewhat accomplished but not a tour de force performance in his work.
Case in point, yes, he was younger in the flawed 'Gangs of New York' but every scene he is with Daniel Day Lewis, is a mismatch in talent. Compare a younger Pacino with Brando in Godfather and he matched the performance of the then more accomplished Brando.
Also helps that nearly all of Di Caprio's films have been with some of the finest directors known to man: Spielsberg/ Scorcese/ Iñárritu / Tarantino/ Eastwood.
Even I will be passable if I worked with such talented filmmakers.
So many top directors go to di caprio though.
He is sensational in the basket ball diaries and wolf of Wall St.

Get out is the best movie I've watched in the last few years. Us too is whopper Peale is a seriously talented director
Us was overhyped nonsense.
already mentioned, but not added to the list yet, but both clint eastwood and gary Oldman need to be on the list.
both have been in some bad films, but neither have ever put in a bad performance.
others to consider:
jean reno
bill murray
john belushi
Gabriel byrne
Donald Sutherland (should be on the list just for oddball in Kelly's heroes alone)
Jodie foster
helen mirren
Its not as good as get out but I loved it. Very creepy he uses shadow so well in it.

Day-Lewis is imo the greatest actor of all time. Di Caprio is another level too, come a long way since Titanic.
--------
He was already a good actor before titanic. Basketball diaries is one of my favourite films.
danny DeVito
Christopher Lloyd (if you didn't already know of him, you would have thought he was one of the real nutcases in one flew over the cuckoo's nest. outstanding performances from him, Nicholson and will Sampson in that film)
woody harrelson
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Sylvester Stallone
Two of the greatest action movie stars to ever live. How can they not be on that list?
Not Hollywood as such, but I think Stephen Graham deserves a mention. His evolving portrayal of Combo in the This Is England movie and series is top notch.
Donald Sutherland (should be on the list just for oddball in Kelly's heroes alone)
.....
Good call.
Gary Oldman should be on the list.

Yes kneerash! I don't ever hear anyone mention basketball diaries. Even Wahlberg is good in that film.
Babyen.
Will give Inception a watch when I'm back from holiday. As for Welsh it's amazing what even some Welsh people say about the language.
MU52.
I will see if I can download it and give it a listen.
Pineapple.
That would have been amazing calling it that!
Gene Hackman.
Lot of love for Tim Roth too.

Tom Cruise - boat load of excellent films
Ben Affleck - for The Accountant alone
Russell Crowe - for Gladiator alone
Philip Seymour Hoffman another excellent actor who rarely put a foot wrong.
