🔥Everton v Wolves🔥[LIVE]

I thought we played far better today than we did against Burnley and went toe to toe against a decent team on their pitch. Deserved a draw and the win could have gone either way. I thought it was a score draw between Traore and Digne. Both had their moments in the attacking third, both looked vulnerable defensively. Everton’s winner came against the run of play really and the 5th goal could have gone to either team. Thankfully we have now come to the end of playing Thursday and Sunday every week and that should help us get more points on the board

Naaa, Everton were the better side and should have won by more. Both teams can’t defend to save their lives. I can’t see either team breaking into the top 6. I’m surprised Wolves didn’t strengthen more during the summer considering you’re in the Europa and Everton are one injury away from disaster, if they lose one of Mina or Keane they’re screwed.

Just one question.

Why did the away lads sing Liverpoool songs then about signing on?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because it's Sunday.

It's a bit of lazy predictable sh!thousing but the sign on chant is just what you do in liverpool and the fact it winds up Evertonians so much is just, well, the whole point really.

You've not researched our defensive record mate. Today we only played with three defenders, two of whom had their worst games in wolves shirts. It won't happen again.

How did Wolves get on yesterday?

Are you climbing the table or are you struggling to compete on 2 fronts as I predicted?

I think Everton shaded it, but were lucky to get all three points in the end.
We were a shambles in defence, most uncharacteristically and I don't think we will be that bad again. Only players with some credit were Rui, Adama and Cutrone.
Must and will do better next time.

New E&S reporter has been rather harsh with the player ratings in my opinion.

I reckon he is spot on except for Traore who was poor at the back, would have given him a 5 and \dendonker I would only give a 4.
Just my opinion.

already played 10 games this season and flown god knows how many thousands of miles, it had to catch up with the team - and thats what it did.

Spot on Wolfgang. A defeat was coming after all the efforts in this early stage of the season. The concern for me is the performances in general, I just don't like our style that much, it seems more negative than even last year.

Typical e&s report. We lost so we have to use the word woeful and give players 4 out of 10. Truth is we played much better than against Burnley and at 2-2 the game could have gone either way. If we had nicked the winner then I guess the reporter would have given most players 8 out of 10

Keeper only gets a 5. Watched highlights last night and he saved two certain goals and just the one error with Cody.

Clearly trying to make a name for himself. Sensibility be damned.

I'm with Spangles and Oldgold. Very harsh scores. Would be happy myself to add 2 to most of those scores and add 3 for Patricio and possibly add 4 for Boly.

Can't agree with you there Spangles, evidently you haven't had a good look at the fixture list.

Sat 14th Sept Chelsea home
Thurs 19th Sept Braga home
Sun 22nd Sept Crystal Palace away
Wed 25th Sept Reading home
Sat 28th Sept Watford home
Thurs 3rd Oct Besiktas away
Sun 6th Oct Man City away

As I mentioned earlier, that's 7 games in 22 days so not any easier then.

I stand corrected Gem, although it will doubtless be a much changed team for the Reading game. But to add to that some of our players will play two internationals before the Chelsea game and have more travelling

Two errors with Coady. He tried to be clever and play the offside trap; but ended up playing Sigurdsson onside with all the time in the world behind the defence to pick a cross for the second.

posted on 2/9/19

From what I saw when Everton played the ball forward Sigurdsson was one of two Everton players stood in an offside position when the ball was played

Coady was much deeper and tried to run forward to catch them offside as the ball was played. It was very close but it looked like Coady's heel played them on.

I don't understand why we didn't have a VAR check of it though or at least why there wasn't a delay for it. It was just as close as Moutinho's was against Man United and we had to wait an age for them to decide they couldn't rule that out.

On this clip it doesn't even look close to me tam. And as you say, why no VAR looking in to this

pretty much a straight line with Bennett and the two Everton players

posted on 2/9/19

I suspect they are already trying to reduce the VAR impact after the shat show of the first few weeks

posted on 2/9/19

Looks to me as if Bennett was playing him on. Coady didn't communicate with Bennett to push out.

I remember thinking it look close but just onside when seeing the replays during the game; but confused as to why we didn't VAR checking it and making a big song and dance out of it.
