Thought Sanchez at RB was an odd choice since Sissoko has experience in that position.
Winks is too weak for a starting position ATM. Maybe a bench player.
Not starting Lo Celso was an odd decision.
I thought Sissoko gave us power going forward from midfield, but he should never be allowed to shoot!
Lamela played well, made the first goal, good first half.
I agree going 0-2 up and then giving a goal away at half-time showed weakness in midfield.
Second half we got over run. Midfield was useless. I fault Winks mainly, with Lamela and Son also at fault.
Sissoko did his best. Definitely need Ndombele.
Also how many times did they come down Sanchez's side?
That said, Son was unlucky not to score - great save by the GK, and Kane also unlucky - great save by the post!
As for Martin Atkinson?
Kane was pushed in the back near the end, an obvious penalty I thought.

Ted, that for you is a pretty reasonable assessment. I think we were both watching the same game today.

He had his clown shoes on all afternoon, the amount of times he got in really good positions then just lost the ball. I was being generous with a three, and that was because he had one decent effort.
Next up Palace at home, another huge banana skin.
----------------------------------------------------
I truly doubt that tbh.

You've been pretty great in 2019 TUX, not feeling confident?
Last season:
Fulham (h) W 3-1 (first promoted team we faced)
Arsenal (a) L 4-2
Newcastle (h) W 1-0
City (a) L 1-0
6points
Villa (h) W 3-1
City (a) D 2-2
Newcastle (h) L 1-0
Arsenal (a) D 2-2
5points
Down 1 point on last season. The fact we took two points of two competing rivals, makes this seasons results more favourable in the long run - hopefully.
Spurs usually hit form after the first or second international break.
We were denied a pen again. Othet clubs had pen for less than that and we don't seem to get any leeways from the refs.
===================================
If that was Mo Salah (Daley), the ref give a pen 100% and all the Scouse pundit would be saying it was nailed on
Today was not the disappointing result.
Newcastle was.
One thing about Harry Kane ..... you can trust him with a penalty kick.
How many has he mised in his career?
Anyone know?
At least we showed up in the first half, kinda

Way too much negativity on here tonight.
Draws at City ( hardest fixture ) and at Arsenal ( prob second hardest because of nature of the NLD ) would have taken at start of the season.
More bothered about the Newcastle performance than today, which everyone else should be.
Arsenal can't defend for toffee, but are strong at home, and a point today will increase the confidence of the team.
Thought there was 100% more energy than last weekend, and whilst the defense has definitely gone backward in terms or organisation, at least the whole team put in a shift.
Players to come back from injury, a much needed break now, and hopefully no last minute moves until the European window closes on Monday. If so, Eriksen, Toby and Rose will go into the next set of fixtures in a much more positive / settled place.
Oh and Verts is back which has to be a positive.
Coys
Sandy, Glad to hear that!!
At least today there was no Buggaring around with keep ball in our half.
It was get it up field and run at them.
But I do not think the new GK rule is being used sensibly.
Lloris & co were getting themselves in a heap of trouble.
Wonder if we could try a team without full backs?

I’d like us to try that formation
We do need to try something different, we cant play the same way anymore because we dont have a DM and good full backs
TBF sandy i'd be very happy if I was a spurs fan. Thoroughly outplayed against city and arsenal and got 2 poitns from it. can only improve

Most sunday league teams could work out how to play against current spurs abject home performances against teams who sit back. If you play like newcastle did against us you'll get a result.
