Kane was fine today, scored a penalty and almost scored a fantastic goal 2nd half.
If the whole team is poor and the performances arent there then a striker cant do things by himself. Kane plays well whenever the team does.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
just a point worth discussing imo mate, as an england fan as well.
You say strikers cant do things themselves but the best strikers can. Drogba done it always for us. Henry, aguero.
That said, I watch Nicholson play several times, when my Dad took me to WHL.
And he achieved things as a manager that Pochettino will be hard pressed to repeat.

Bill Nic. Fack me it’ll be the spirit of the blitz next.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ace, please don`t dismiss Spurs greatest every manager. He makes Poch look like a Conference Manager at best.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair, I think Billy Nic had a better team to work with.
I think Pochettino is still learning the management game.
Bill Nicholson never had Levy to put up with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch still learning, he has been at Spurs for five years now, and never won a bean, and never likely to either. Plenty of managers would have got the team over the line at least once in the past five years. Poch is never going to get this team winning anything. Had lots of chances.
Using Levy has an excuse is a cop out for Poch.
Even George Graham and Ramos have won more than Poch with absolute rubbish teams. They are winners, both serial trophy winners at other clubs.
Who do you want to replace Poch with Sandy?
Its the predictability of it that gets right up my rathole. I bet like me you were all just waiting for their inevitable goal back before half time. The lack of composure and intelligence is frightening and the only slight pleasure I got from the game was that we didn't lose because at the break I was sure we would blow it completely.
I think opposing teams are deliberately not marking Sissoko in the final third so that our players pass to him rather than someone who won't smash it over the bar. I couldn't believe it when Kane elected to square it to him for our last chance of the game. Poch should fine him everytime he shoots.

Wouldn`t mind Brendan Rodgers. Always used to think he was a bit of a fraud as well, but he took Liverpool to a runners up, won lots in Scotland, although not that hard, and has Leicester playing some really good stuff. I am sure he could get this Spurs side to win trophies. He always looks more active on the touchline.
He is a very decent manager. I have had enough of foreign managers.

Pawl, it is all very predictable. At 2-0 up you could have put your mortgage on that Spurs would find a way not to win. It has happened so many times under the manager. That said I was not expecting anything out of the match before the game kicked off. This is after all Spurs we are talking about, totally gutless when push comes to shove.
It's a tad silly comparing 2 managers from 2 entirely different eras several decades apart.

What, like Tim Sherwood, Harry Redknapp, Glenn Hoddle, David Pleat, George Graham, Gerry Francis and Terry Venables? Most of our managers have been British. Only Poch and Jol of foreign origin have lasted more than 2 seasons. The only others were Gross, Ramos, Ardiles and AVB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I meant foreign managers per se in the country as a whole. You barely get a British manager these days.

Ramos with his 2 points from 8 the season after. If he had that much of a winning mentality why didn't he do better that season?
How did Graham do in the league with us?
Both won cups while under-performing in the league which is why they didn't keep their jobs. Poch has got us closer to winning one the bigger trophies for decades but if we want to win them the board needs to match his own ambition.

I've been like the most positive person on here since our loss to Newcastle, when all and sundry have been negative or talking about not caring about Poch, including the person who branded me 'nelly' in the first place.
Some good points on this but please be honest here and this is to all, did ppl really think we would hold out after taking a two nil lead? I know I didn’t i knew we would mess it up and look at the build up to the first goal, how many times has that happened we had ample chances to clear we can’t and then concede that’s happened in countless games.
The only saving grace is that we didn’t go full meltdown and lose 3-2 let’s face it we have no winning mentality when it really matters and until we instill this within the team we’re going to come up short
At 2-0 up I thought we might win.
After all, it was a game of two halves, and first half we were near to going 3 up, Son having a shot saved brilliantly and Kane hitting the inside of the post.
Second half, they showed what a poor midfield we had out there today. And a makeshift RB, thanks to Levy.

Yes your right we could have been out of sight first 40 mins but the prob was were weren’t and I’ve seen enough of spurs over the years to know they don’t have the killer instinct of putting a top team away, at least get to half time 2-0 up but such a poor goal to concede
