Kane & Ali - Diving ?

Like he wasn't doing these blatant dives he'd invite the tackle and go down if he couldn't release the ball to another player.

Clever play in my eyes. If a striker can invite a foul in the box and get fouled to win a pen that's clever play.

Football isn't some game of morals

Whether it's clever or not, it's cheating.

I'd argue every player would disagree Winston

Disagree all you like, it's a fact.

It’s not though it’s part of the game and has been for 100 years

If it's written into the laws of the game that you are not permitted to do it but you do it with the intention of gaining an advantage and trying to get away with it, you've cheated.

It’s no different really to consistently hacking down your opponents players to stop counter attacks like Pep’s City do. That’s not permitted either but I doubt their fans feel they are cheating.

i'm with winston on this one, you've got to kick this stuff out of football completely. i don't want to watch players con the ref. kane had options but he thought to cheat.

It's subjective how you feel about it. As neo says a tactical foul at the right time is a good thing. God knows how many times I've shouted foul him if we're being broken on.

I Don't like blatant diving, or feigning being hurt when nothing has happened and would slate any red who does it. But a good foul, or a striker inviting a tackle to get a free or pen for me is all part of the game, annoying when it happens against you of course but I wouldn't be going mad about it.

Like take a corner or a free into the box, people stepping on toes, roughing up the person they're marking it's technically a foul but it happens at every level of the game and always had, it's part of it.

fouling someone is cheating but you get punished for it and sometimes you just have to do it because it's the best you can do in a bad situation. diving on the other hand is getting rewarded for something that didn't happen. it drives me crazy when it happens to my team and cheapens any good that comes from it when my player does it.
i would give big bans to the perpetrators.

Well no, it isn't.

It's against the rules and the very definition of cheating is behaving unfairly in order to gain an advantage.

If you don't mind it and you think it's part of the game then honestly, it's fair enough - but you can't deny it's cheating when it's literally the definition of cheating!

Fair point.

Fack the police...

I do see where you're coming from I just think blatant cheating and a tactical foul are not the same thing.

Diving is dreadful and as bad as someone falling to the floor pretending they were headbutted to get someone sent off that's the worst for me.

Kane’s both incidents were def fouls and outside the box 100% gets given

Sooooooooo over diving at this point.

But I will say that you can dive whilst being fouled

Seen it a few times whetr a player has been fouled but their theatrics has led the ref to go the other way

Agree the decisions not to give them were laughable
