Farcical.
£80M in the bank and we don't go for Meling.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I never quite got the love in for Meling. He’s a decent player, but I’m not sure he’s better than Taylor. He’s 3 years younger and got really good potential.
The money in the bank is irrelevant if the fees quoted for Meling are true, as they were supposed to be about the same.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You for real ? He was tremendous against us , a complete stand out
He's a terrific full back and he would be a tremendous signing , gutted we haven't got him in
He's stood out everytime I've seen him.
Greg Taylor on the other hand , I sincerely hope my memory of him isn't as I think it is .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ehm-yeah. Last I looked I was real.
He stood out in a Rosenborg team that weren’t really very good. I’m not saying he’s p!sh, just not this phenomenal left back that everyone else seems to think. Taylor has also been solid every time I’ve seen him, but I think he’s got a bit more grit about him.
I don’t think there’s much between them.
Taylor at Celtic pro just now, and 4 year deal agreed with Kent for rangers.
Meling was a standout against us a few times.
I've never even noticed Taylor..for Kilmarnock...
Meling all day long.
Meling surely had the advantage of being on better team in games v celtic. I've no idea who is better though
Taylor deal done
Welcome aboard young man.

Can only hope that Taylor is far better than my expectations, as they're pretty low! Will give him every chance, but he just looks too wee and lightweight to me, for starters ... 5 foot 8, and looks about 10 stone. Not wishing to be size-ist, as a short erse myself, but I think defenders need to be much more physically equipped than that for the hurly burly of the SPFL, never mind anything above that level. You could argue it hasn't stopped him "excelling" for Killie, but there he's playing in a team set up to defend first and foremost ... whole different ball game playing for us.
Time will obviously tell, but I won't pretend I'm anything but majorly underwhelmed with the level of our ambition here ... yet again.

Aye welcome to the hoops young man. Let's hope he turns out more like Kieran Tierney than Mo Camara level.
No offence but he better not be vaulted straight in to the side instead of Boli. We have already tried to fack with his confidence once by dropping him for the home Cluj game and after he had decent game at Ibrox we should be looking to continue that confidence building by giving him a run of games.
Frimpong from Man City seems to be close as well
Celtic's late move to sign Manchester United centre-back Lee O'Connor is claimed to be on track.
The clock is ticking down on the summer transfer window in Scotland, with Celtic having until midnight to complete any incoming deals.

The good news with this is it’s two direct in contest for the spot instead of shoehorning someone in.
GK - Forster, Gordon, Bain.
RB - El Hammed, Bauer
CB - Jozo, Julien, Ajer, Biton
LB - Boli, Taylor
CM - Brown, McGregor, Kouassi, Biton
AM - Christie, Rogic, Ntcham
RW - Forrest, Shved, Morgan
LW - Johnston, Elyounoussi, Sinclair, Hayes
CF - Edouard, Bayo, Griffiths
After a lot of uncertainty, I’m pretty happy with the strength in dept of that. The defensive options are much stronger than last year that’s for sure.
Assume Jack Hendry headed the other way to Killie? What about Calvin Miller?
On JH, I hope we've inserted a clause in the loan deal insisting that he DOES play against us.
Nah Dave.....Hendry & Miller refused to go to Killie. That's what held up the deal.
Not to say they won't go elsewhere on loan sharpish tonite.

Aye, they'd be advised to ... as they've as much chance of a first team start as me.

If EH comes back 75% of Christie I'll be well chuffed.

Another player has arrived and it’s all been done very discreetly, no press allowed to see who was inside.
This seems very strange, do we have a surprise ?
