Spurs Team & Squad

Great article mate

5 stars from me and change from the doom and gloom which has become the norm for any Spurs related articles lately.

We are where we are because of the people at the club and yet very quick to judge and be negative.

As you can see, we have kept all our key players - Trippier excepted, and we have added to it too.

Three exciting players joined us: Sessegnon, Lo Celso and Ndombele

Now we can plan for a Eriksen in the midfield along those guys - though forward.

Verts and Toby adding experience at the back - Davies will add the settled better defending on the left hand side and we have the choice of going 3-5-2 or 4-3-2-1 Dusty bin system

Looking up, I think

This international break will help us hugely and will also be a hindrance to some other clubs whose momentum has been temporarily halted.

We can now get the players back to fitness level they need to be: specially the three new guys

We need to get a settled XI and everyone know their role in the team. One thing that needs improving is Pochettino's in-game management. Sometimes the right substitution looks obvious (like Lucas on for the last 15-20 minutes against Arsenal) but we don't seem to make them.

If everybody is fit and pulling in the same direction we have a great squad.

Its now down to Poch to get the mind set sorted and start picking his best defence. He needs to give Aurier a run of games, I appreciate that he divides opinion but its a big opportunity for him as KWP has been underwhelming so far.

KWP doesn't deserve to be dropped

I just wanna win the next game.. That's all

This won't be popular but maybe if Dier is fit we try and play him with Ndombele. Dier use to slot in nicely as a third CB when needed. We use to be very solid.

It really isn't as bad as some spurs fans are making out. Poor form but spurs comfortable third best side in England.

Us and city are just relentless at the moment it's not normal for two sides to be so consistemt.

Worst thing would be for Poch to go at the moment. If the form continues till may then the conversation needs to be had but at the moment who will spurs get in, could end up doing a united and give Robbie Keane the job.

If I see sissoko in the line up for the next game I'll shoot myself

A similar kind of window next season (2 big signings and then a couple rotation pieces) is still obviously needed but I'm much happier about the squad now then I was a year ago

Squad looks easily better problem is the unsettled XI and no decent RB. We were a RB away from a great summer.

I like the look of Lo Celso. Think he will prove to be a very good signing.

Coming on in a game line Sunday's when they had really got the crowd going and to be so calm on the ball was lovely to see

i see no problem as this being considered a genuine option at times.

Dier is the sort who needs regular game time...a rusty Dier is almost not worth having so he needs to be involved. There must be games where a Dier /NDombele or Dier /Winks CM is a good option....never Dier & Sisokko

Its a good squad no question, sadly not good enough to win either of the biggies and Poch probably wont take the domestic cups seriously so its just more of the same.... Top 4 and hopefully some better quality football to watch. Next couple of windows are gonna be huge re the center of defense

A top 4 squad assuming poch can get them playing like it again.

So this was the lineup in the League Cup semi 1st leg last season:

Gazzaniga
Trippier
Sánchez
Alderweireld
Rose
Winks
Sissoko
Eriksen
Alli
Kane
Son Heung-Min

In the second leg, Kane Trippier & Alli were injured. Son was away. Vertonghen played and Rose dropped to the bench.

Other than Lloris (Gazzaniga played well), it was our strongest XI except maybe Vertonghen in teh first leg and Rose in the 2nd.

So tell me how Poch didnt take this game seriously.

I dont get why everyone keeps saying this ? Theres clearly a CL defeat hangover. Wer have made 3 new signings who have made a combined total of 2 starts, we have been crap for 9 months, the stadium has made no impact and all the contract issues are unresolved. I hopeful of a pick up but in no way expecting one. Instead of Poch grumbling about instability we now are likely to have players frustrated that they didn't get their moves...Eg. Eriksen & Rose

I think a scruffy 1-0 win Vs Palace is far more likely than some 5-0 Drubbing ...... We aint City or Liverpool

Im confused - have we been crap for the last 9 months or were we fine before the CL final and now we're suffering a hangover?

Last season our squad was fundamentally flawed which led to consistently poor performances.

Picking up points whilst playing as poorly as we were playing is unsustainable, so towards the end of the season the wheels fell off.

We have *theoretically* addressed the major cause for the poor performances by signing two 50 million pound midfielders.

When your issues come down to personnel, and those issues require new personnel, and new players need time, you have to give it time.
