Athletico Madrid - entertaining?
He went from having a great season and a good world cup. Last year, he was rubbish so good riddance. Atletico does defend as a unit but entertaining, I am not sure.
I watch a lot of La Liga due to where I live and it’s fair to say Atletico have gotten more entertaining this season. Joao Felix has brought the flair and the younger full backs are making counter attacks a lot more interesting. I know Trippier was poor towards the end but your loss is Atleticos gain and I feel they’ll put in a great title challenge
Obviously atletico are a big side with a great manager but so are spurs. They're not what they used to be and for a player like trippier playing in the Spanish league will be kind to him, wont have to do a lot of defending most games.
Hes a pratt
He'll be really good got atletico because he'll get all the help in the world defensively under Simeone and we'll get articles about how it was a mistake to sell him.
It wasn't a mistake - he fits a certain kind of football and it's not ours.

He just can’t keep his mouth shut, glad he’s gone
I tried to speak to the chairman and didn’t really get an answer. I spoke to the manager and I didn’t get a yes and I didn’t get a no.
=====
Spurs handling of players is a joke.
He fits Athleticos style, he never really fit ours, despite some good performances against some of the poorest teams. Bottom line is he isn't quick enough or good enough defensively for Spurs, that's why he's been sold.

This is nothing more than ex-player who wasn't deemed as essential in the end, wants to show the world that he's doing alright
He wasn't good enough that's all

Yeah because as Trippier said it with no verification it must be true
i think we all assumed that we would be upgrading trippier... but actually we have sold last year's first choice (albeit not good enough), and now are playing last years 3rd choice because last years second choice is out of favour.
i should add that last year;s third choice, and this year's first choice is currently injured, so we have our third choice CB playing RB, instead of belgiums first choice RB.
meanwhile it seems that the plan is to play last years 4th choice CB as this year's 1st choice RB... but hes also injured.
WHAT A FACKING MESS
Chronic, that’s down to your man Levy. I’m sure if Pochettino was offered an excellent Right back alternative, he wouldn’t turn it down. He’s turned to Foyth because he has no other choice. Your bald friend Levy mate, nobody else to blame.

not having it. Levy showed pure willingness to bring in players poch wanted in the window... you telling me lo celso and all these guys were people levy targeted and got?
poch was clearly planning to use foyth there, which is ridiculous.

You have no idea that’s true.
What we do know is poch has been training and talking to foyth about being a RB for a while.
The fact we had very little links to any RB tells me that as a club we weren’t interested in getting one.
foyth might turn out to be a good RB... but we needed to out and get a ready made top class RB as we should have been doing all we could do close the gap at the top, and win a trophy...
we are constantly in a cycle of developing players, but the problem is that most of the squad has the quality to win things, and the same things hold us back time and time again
(one or two positions without required quality / lack of mentality / poor in game management)
Aurier needs selling and a new RB coming in
Need 4 really good, athletic fullbacks
All the stories point to the right back situation being Poch's choice. It seems like he was much keener to strengthen cm/am and believes Foyth can become a good right back. He has worked magic with full backs before so I am happy to trust him.
Personally I think the Sessegnon money should have been spent on a RB. Wan Bissaka would have been ideal (I know he is an extra £20m on Sess but I am sure we could have afforded that).
FWIW I’m kinda happy that kwp is (will) hopefully get a run of games.
Not saying he’s great but I want to see him at least get a good chance before we move him on

should have sent him on loan last two years to see if hes up to prem standard. we really don't make good use of the loan system, which is silly considering that it was crucial for Kane early in his career to get senior football.
KWP has been horribly mishandled by the club
First off, Trippier can't run worth a damn and Simeone is not going to solve that problem. Better positioning, maybe.
Second, Foyth is now our first choice at RB....and don't hold your breath on that one working out!
By January we'll be in the market for a new RB.
We are now putting players on the pitch .... KWP, Winks to name two, who are not up to top Prem standard and may never be. Good players, yes; the best, NO!
Not a good omen for a club that wants to be a contender.
