He was highly rated but doubtful the club are going to sit back and take that from the agent of a youth player. He needs to get rid of his agent before he turns his career before it starts, if that hasn't happened already.

The lad was miles away from first team action and hadn’t done enough in pre season to press a claim for a place in the first team squad. Bizarre he came to the club he say he loves and then throws his toys out of the pram when he can’t get straight into the first team.

It’s easy to blame the agent but if you ask me the problem lies with the lad himself. I can’t see him lasting long in Italy tbh.

I thought he was supposed to be highly rated. Seems really odd for him to push for the move. That said, I think that more and more kids will look to move abroad after seeing how Sancho has done.

Apparently he did similar to City to join us, not sure if he had the same agent then etc. Club seemed to accept the first offer to buy 20 % sell on seems low but probably wanted rid after that.

I felt Liverpool and Klopp have always been fair to players they cant guarantee game time to etc just have to look at Ings and Solanke etc, struggle to see a need for the route his family and his agent went down.

I read that Fiorentina initially wanted to loan him but Liverpool turned it down. Then the agent came out with that stuff and Fiorentina came back with a bid for a permanent deal. Looks like Liverpool were glad to wash their hands of him in the end, with the fee being so low. Be interesting to see if he can make his mark over there.

He’s scored a lot of goals at youth level and was rated enough to be involved with the squad in pre-season. I don’t know whether it’s impatience on his part? Ego perhaps.

It’s easy to blame the agent but apparently he’s been on Instagram declaring himself as some super-agent because he’s prepared to do what 99% of agents won’t. It difficult to imagine this ‘character’ didn’t play a role.

Personally I think Duncan’s biggest problem was Rhian Brewster. That lad is seriously rated, only 10 months older and will get first team game time this season. It’s difficult to give two kids the kind of time they want whilst remaining competitive and Brewster was clearly first in the queue.

posted on 4/9/19

He spat his dummy out as Brewster was ahead of him in the pecking order and rightly so. Bobbys a decent young striker but to think he should be near the first team is a joke.

His agent is a moron and that didn’t help.

Can't blame the lad if Saif Rubie's statement is simply the truth:

‘There has been a lot of things said the last few weeks regarding Bobby Duncan’s future at Liverpool.‘And today [Wednesday] is the final straw of the behaviour and dealing of Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards.‘A few months ago before the end of last season, Bobby had meetings with the club’s hierarchy including academy director Alex Inglethorpe.‘It was recognised that Bobby wasn’t happy at Liverpool for different reasons and Alex invited us to bring offers to the club for the exit of Bobby Duncan.‘For a player with zero first team experience, no clubs were prepared to pay an outright reasonable fee for a player they got for £200,000 last summer.‘With that in mind we have been able to find clubs that were ready to take Bobby on a season-long loan with a option to buy for amounts of £1.5million upwards which is a great return for the club on a player who will never play for the Liverpool first team and who doesn’t want to be there.‘The club and Michael Edwards specifically made it clear that that kind of deal wouldn’t work.‘So then myself and my team worked even harder and managed to get a deal on the table for a loan with an obligation to buy after five starts with a higher transfer fee than before and a sell-on to Liverpool.‘Putting all of that aside, the real reason Bobby missed the Under 23 game (against Southampton) on Monday is because he has suffered some deep mental health issues with all the stress the club has put him under.‘Stress of being told he can leave but then going out of their way to force him to stay against his will.‘Not only is he on a very small salary but he also has one season left on his contract after this one and Liverpool have flatly said he will not get a new one.‘Bobby has not left his room for four days because of this and will never go back to Liverpool again and my only concern now is his mental health and well being.‘The Liverpool hierarchy have shown zero consideration to that and have even gone as far as saying in writing that they will punish him and make him stay at the club until January and beyond to teach him a lesson.‘This is not really dignified behaviour from a club with the rich history of Liverpool and one who one of their greatest ever players Steven Gerrard happens to be Bobby’s cousin.‘It’s a sad state of affairs that a club such as a Liverpool can be allowed to get away with mentally bullying and destroying the life of a young man such as Bobby.‘I know one thing for sure, and that is he is never going back there again and he’s on such a small salary that no amount of fines will even make a difference.‘In this situation all that matters is the players health and in this case Michael Edwards has totally ignored that because of his own stubbornness and I really pray that his experience doesn’t happen to any young players again.’

This Rubie muppet was bypassed for the transfer, and his previous agent used.

Yet he is bragging about how he did the deal etc. Hmmm.... shows how much of a liar he is.

Looks like this kid may go the same way as his other clients Berahino and Carlton Cole and become also rans

You have to ask where are the parents in all this or are they also after the quick buck. Young players that have left in similar cloud have not excelled. Just look at Sinclair and Dhanda.

so.

bar this kid having some relation to Gerrard there's not much difference between him and Camacho.

Camacho spat the dummy after being given a first team debut at right back rather than his chosen position of forward/right wing.

Duncan played 12 months for us total, had a great partnership with glatzel and scored 30+ goals in u18s. great.

but he's decided it's not happening fast enough or there's some other influence at play.

we paid city 300k and he never kicked a ball for 12 months at 16 years of age.

we've sold Camacho for 7.mil or something and Duncan at 2mil.

the fact is neither are showing the mentality or attitude to really work or be at a big club.

I think we should just wish them all the best and move on with the profits.

reality checks:

1. brewster would have moved if his injury wasn't so serious. he took a 5 year deal as he had no other option.

2. Elliot just joined us at 16 and shafted his club Fulham.

everyone's at the game. in the end Liverpool made a profit, and thats all we can do.

fomo is what's driving the story now. what it's about Duncan's future career turning into sancho.

Duncan was bullied by the staff. No wonder he wanted out, now i've no idea how good or not he is but you must understand him wanting out if he's being bullied at work.

The people i bully at work all want to leave. So i understand and sympathise.

I said IF its true. If the kid was bullied, if that report is true, then I can understand. Thats it.

So Duncan has gone to Italy for £2M; LFC get 20% of any sell-on deal. I hope that any mental health issues are resolved before he leaves us.

Due to the manner of his leaving, I don't suppose we will see him ever again in a Red shirt.

I wish him well.

So that whole statement is one big pile of lies and nothing of that happened whatsoever? If thats the case then yes, the agent deserves a neck shot.

Mental health issues? Behave. The old stress chestnut because you don't get what you want at work. It's funny how stress always seems to come a couple of weeks before getting a new job. Full pay until your start date.

This is a simple case of a player wanting to go, a club not accepting the offer, the agent stirring up crap forcing the club's hand and the club having to strike a deal.

What's true is the club rejected an offer, the agent played the stress and bullied card in public and the club then having to do a deal.

I wouldn’t quite call it the stress and bullied card as it seems there was some bullying going on there but you’re right agents play too many games

Are you a mental health professional, surrered or suffering from stress/anxiety?

I have seen the biggest and most confident people crumble in circumstances that you would assume they could deal with.

He may have an attitude, he may be to big for his boots/badly advised. But to question his mental health/using stress as a di at him.....that’s low.
