Kepa

Ahead of De Gea for Spain now

More down to his lack of form than Kepa imo but he's undoubtedly a talented keeper with his best still to come unlike De Gea.

De Gea wants out of United. He is the kind of player that would welcome getting substituted, not refuse to come off and disrespect his own manager.

I watched the Spain game last night, they were very very good, away in a hostile atmosphere, Kepa did not have much to do really, but he saved them twice in the last couple of minutes. He will become a great keeper ,as he gets more mature.

Kepa's brilliance seems to have gone under the radar a bit for us. He is also brilliant at passing out from the back (second amount of passes last year for a keeper I believe). And a great shot stopper. Still improving too.

I hear people mention the best keepers in the league and he's not mentioned by opposition fans (I guess in ignorance from not seeing him or that our back four has been under par for over a year). But he's definitely up there with the best in the league.

I'd actually go to say that kepa is better than courtois towards the end of his time here.

I really like him as a character - seems keen to learn and pleased to be here - unlikeTibo. And his general play is very very good. My reservations are that he too often gets stranded on his feet - the two goals last weekend for example I would have expected his reactions to take him across to at least get a hand to the ball on both occasions. I know they were close in and very sharp chances, but I felt De Gea would have got across. De Gea is definitely better in that area.

Kepa has been poor this season so far. I dont think he’ll ever be Cech/Courtois level at their best for Chelsea

Take it you havent seen chelsea play this year then

He has been. Chelsea haven't kept a single clean sheet and Kepa has been at fault for at least a couple of those goals.

What goals?

Did you see his performance in the super cup?

Have you actually watched any chelsea game?

The super cup in which he didn't save a single penalty in the shootout? And yes, I am a Chelsea fan, so I have seen plenty of us this season.

Off the top of my head, he was at fault for one of the goals against Norwich.

posted on 6/9/19

yeah could have done better for that one for sure as most keepers have moments through the season, anything else?

Mate, he's concede in every game, 4 vs United, 2 vs Liverpool, 2 vs Norwich, 2 vs Sheffield and 1 vs Lester.

Not saying that they're all his fault, but a top keeper doesn't concede that many, regardless of the defence in front of them.

What a ridiculous thing to say.

DDG conceded over 50 goals last season.

I have to ask again, have you seen our matches? if you have you would see why were conceding.

Over 50 goals? Kepa has conceded in 4 PL games 9 goals. Over a season that averages out to 9*9.5 = 85.5 goals.

Kepa's season so far is a disaster in terms of the number of goals he's condeded.

posted on 6/9/19

Yeah exactly, and the defence is seen as a massive issue...not sure what you are not understanding here.

He's been fine. Much bigger issues then him, even got a call up to spain. You're talking rubbish, what is it with people with over 20,000 user numbers

Should have known there's no point criticising your favourites. Saint Hazard can do no wrong. Saint Cahill can do no wrong. Saint Kepa is the new Saint and he can do no wrong. (Btw i miscounted, Kepa conceded 10 in 4 games, averaging out to 95 goals over a season)

Tell me when Petr Cech ever conceded 12 goals in 5 games please.

Kepa is the least of our worries.

Yes he could have done better for the Norwich goal but the other goals we have conceded are not down to him.

There's some areas he can improve but he's got time on his hands.
