won the CL if Dembele could finish.

this aggravates me, so all the shots we missed in the first leg dont count, but dembeles does, sounds fair.

Van Dijk bottled the league. Bottled the league cup. Bottled the FA cup and topped it off by bottling the nation's league. Getting destroyed in the final by a bunch of Wolves players. Just lucky to have been playing the worst side to have ever reached a CL final. Even then he needed a dodgy penalty.

If anything he should be punished. Not rewarded.

Messi scored 51 goals in 50 games. Of course he deserves to win it

big one I mean PL

And why would you laugh at John Terry who most consider the best CB of the Pl era? bit odd.

———-

Terry was a donkey. He looked OK playing in Jose’s dull as ditchwater defensive team but he was very limited on the ball and turned slower than an oil tanker.

Also a disgusting personality.

Has to be Robertson for me. Played a big part in winning the CL. As well as being part of the best back four in the world. He also played a big part in an incredible title challenge. About time a left back won it.

I'd be okay with it

He was a very good passer of the ball. Ive nit net him but he's done some pretty shabby stuff but as a baller he was quality.

Stripping off to full kit wanchor for the photos was cringe as fvck too.

The biggest difference is people just expect it from Messi because he's the best player in the world.

The award is for the best player in the world. Is VVD better than Messi?

If Sissoko scored a hattrick in the Champions League final and Spurs won the competition, would that make him the best player in the world? Can't just judge players on a single game.

as defending? no

Liverpool's attackers built them up a massive lead over city. All they needed was for their defenders to defend that lead. Over to you Van Dijk....

Maguire was better for a weaker side at Leicester. Now bossing it at the biggest club in the world. The most expensive centre back in the world for good reason. Price tags don't lie. Van Dijk not far behind though.

He should win it.

For a defender to play against the likes of Hazard, Aguero, Sterling, Mbappe, Neymar, Lewandowski, Suarez and Messi and not be taken on once is a stat that is unheard of.

Capped off that miracle stay with a Champions League win.

VVD

Would be a great achievement for a defender to win this, and definitively because he is Dutch.

At scoring goals no but I know who I'd rather have in defence. Goalscorers always get the accolades for obvious reasons as goals win games.

Pool beat Barca and went onto win the biggest trophy in European club football, and would barca miss Messi as much as the current CL champions would miss VD?

Another way to look at it is if Messi joined Liverpool and not VD would they have been better placed to win the CL? I'd say no. That signifies the scale of how well that one signing has done and I'd fsure no one would begrudge him beating CR or Messi to the prize
