The more alert amongst you will note that the players' 'value' is a lot more than the price paid in most cases.

The Pep Effect.

Weird how fast City fans have gone from being glad to be in the CL to dismissing it as a cup comp.

Yet the squad as a whole is only worth fractionally more than you paid.

Just admit City have bought their success.

We all know, it doesn't matter. But I think it might be good for you to accept the fact.

In other news City are the only club to have ever bought any players.

By fraction, do you mean half?

Sane, Aguero, Bernardo, Sterling, KdB, Jesus, Zinchenko worth at least twice what we paid for them.

Foden at £22.5m is worth £22.5m more than what we paid for him so how does that work?

I'm not sure where you're getting your number from, but they seem reasonable. Your squad certainly isn't worth 2bn.

Nah i'm only messing.

City just got really lucky with the odd good signing and pulled it together with top class management. They're clearly building on their own successes and decades of gradual progression that has earned them a huge global audience. Combined with the ability to attract top sponsors, this means they can outspend the rest of Europe.

I'm just a bitter wum. Have a good one
