The top 10 clubs to spend the most on current squad:

1. Manchester City (€1.014bn)
2. Paris Saint-Germain (€913m)
3. Real Madrid (€902m)
4. Manchester United (€751m)
5. Juventus (€719m)
6. Barcelona (€697m)
7. Liverpool (€639m)
8. Chelsea (€561m)
9. Atletico Madrid (€550m)
10. Arsenal (€498m)

Money talks when it comes to winning trophies I guess.

United are so wasteful it’s unreal, they should have kept their powder dry and fix that old dilapidating dinosaur of a stadium first.

People mock United but that table shows we are still the 4th best in Europe. Ahead of Liverpool and even Barca and Juve.

4th best team and you finish sixth in PL what’s the point of that?

Top clubs build for the future. This table shows that we are doing that and Liverpool are not. The future looks good for us and poor for Liverpool

Does anyone outside of Manchester support Man City. They barely have a domestic support base let alone global.....how can they afford all of these players

how can they afford all of these players

One, they win trophies which brings in extra revenues and sponsorships.

Two, and most relevant, they are financed by an oil producing sovereign state.

Their fans may tell you that they are now self sufficient but neglect to mention that the majority of the club employee salaries are paid by outside sources & their club has sponsors willing to pay many times the going rate for stadium sponsorship etc. that even the world's biggest clubs can only dream of.

Some Aussie mates of mine have got into football lately and were deciding which team to support (), mostly going on general glory.

In the end however none of them chose City, regardless of their current success even people who know nothing about football see it as completely hollow and fairly uninteresting as it's purely bought

*and no I didn't suggest Arsenal, I'm not that cruel!

How does one go about choosing who to support? It should be forced upon you at birth. It's not a choice.

How many people were at your birth?

Was it a mixture of people from Dundee and Manchester?

Are you suggesting that they are breaking rules. Surely if this were the case they would be under investigation or something? And the rules are tight so they wouldn't blatantly break them, they'd have to cover it up, but surely they'd be stupid to do this and it wouldnt just represent a breach of the rules but also a deliberate cover-up. Double deceit !
