Rhian Brewster, 6 months until he's 20 and still hasn't played a single minute of senior football, not even in the league cup. Wonder what his thoughts were when a lad two years his junior in Billy Gilmour was brought on in a PL match?

Billy Gilmour isn't your youth though, you bought him from Rangers.

Out of all those players only Mount is that impressive, RLC has spells between time out. Jury still out on Abraham but looks like he will do well but Christensen just isn't that good and CHO has a reputation his minutes haven't earned him because of the contract dispute and Bayern interest.

That's not really the point i'm trying to make.

Brewster i imagine left us because he thought (or was told) more opportunities will come at Liverpool however coming upto 20 years old he's still awaiting a debut he most likely would have got by now had he remained with us.

Brewster has had multiple injuries last 2 years. Not been available when needed.

I doubt Brewster could have predicted in 2014 that you'd get a transfer ban and appoint Lampard because there weren’t any other alternatives, thus finally giving some youth players a chance as your hand was forced.

But would he have been able to make a name for himself as a scarf bandana wearer? Did he win a UCL medal....if so that probably justifies the move alone.

Christensen, Odoi and Loftus all broke through before the ban admittedly quite belatedly in the latter's case!

Christensen was playing Bundesliga for a couple of seasons at a high level so he hardly broke through, Odoi hasn't done anything yet really and RLC is a good player but doesn't stay fit for long.

just because you are giving more players chances this season through necessity doesn't mean these players weren't right to leave.

Brewster in particular is at a bigger better team. Solanke would have been schite wherever he played imo because he's just not any use.

Klopp rates Brewster very highly and he'll almost certainly get his debut this season at some point. Only reason he hasn't until now was his injury that kept him out for a year, so don't think you should include him in this list.

Regardless it still demonstrated a pathway for youth even if he did have to go on loan first.

He is, but it's no use if he isn't playing at-all. Best he can hope for at Liverpool until his mid 20's is Firminho's understudy, although granted he wasn't to know that at the time.

That i do agree with, but despite that we were still criticized from pillar to post for letting him walk.

Eddie Nketiah, 19 appearances mainly token minutes from the bench in 2 years and now aged 20 is on loan in the Championship.
------
More Arsenal appearances than Abraham has Chelsea appearances, at almost 2 years younger. And Abrahsm was on loan in the Championship at 20. Strange example.

Solanke was a business decision for us. Get him cheap from Chelsea and then sell him for a sizable profit.

Bit hard on Brewster considering the injuries.

As a club we're doing well out of Chelsea really. CHO on a free next.
