I’d love to get him but do people really think we could? This is the depressing state we’re currently in, we aren’t one of the worlds best teams and we can’t expect to get the best talent around, especially if other clubs are also interested.

The way they have worded this certainly makes it sound like the option to move on will be more likely next summer.

My bad. I misread the second paragraph.

Still don’t think he’ll end up at United next summer. I wrote a list of seven reasons why he wouldn’t join this summer gone when people were arguing he was a viable target last season and too many of them still apply.

I imagine most clubs in Europe will try and sign him if he becomes available

We’ll be competing with the likes of Barca, Real, Bayern, PSG (if Mbappe goes to Spain), Chelsea etc

Not saying he won’t join us but I’d imagine getting CL football as a minimum will be needed to sway him and signs that we have some sort of plan

Is there a possibility Sane will go to Bayern next summer? If so Sancho would be an ideal replacement and don’t City have some sort of buy back clause too?

Other than money, I don’t really see much reason to leave Dortmund for us at the moment? He’s competing for titles, playing CL football and developing really well there, all things that are hugely uncertain if he were to join us.

If he only even matches last season’s figures in terms of goals and assists (which was one per game), he’ll also be leaving for a world record fee, and I’m not sure the Glazers are signing that off.
