For Those who Could not Attend

Great report as usual Ramdini and I agree with all you have said except I think you will find that is was not Lawrence who passed the ball to Malone, he was nearer the halfway line and had absolutely nothing at all to do with the goal. I missed his great flashes as well, must have been amazing.

I didn't go to the match last night and I think the penalty was difficult for the ref to see, it was only after replays from 2 positions that you could see it. If we'd has VAR it would be given, but then the Malone goal would have been disallowed for Waghorn's hand ball, which you couldnt see in real time. These things even themselves out and I hate all the stopping with VAR.

Leeds next and we'll have to manage without our little Tommy. I don't often agree with Colin, but he should have been sent of ffor the over the top attempted tackle, it was his usual cowardly stuff. Pathetic.

Thrilled to see Chris Martin, if the wall had been 10 yards he might have made my night.

Yes, I meant to mention the wall was about 8 yards - not 10. And the foul was just on the edge of the area yet he took the kick from outside the D. Poor refereeing I thought.

Next game we'll have to manage without Lawrence???

Great reception for Martin and surely would have given Flint and Morrison a bigger headache than Marriott. Hold up man just isn’t his game and you could see Martin working the two centre half’s and making little lay-offs. The pity was Marriott wasn’t on the pitch to benefit. Go on Phil take a chance. Martin Waghorn Marriott up top v Leeds.

This hatred for Lawrence is pathetic. I thought he didn’t play well last night but to buy into the claptrap produced by that nobhead Warnock is contemptible. There was nothing at all in his challenge on Morrison as the studio panel incidentally all agreed, three people less likely to be biased than Warnock or VC. Morrison tried to get Holmes booked in the first half for a similar bit of nothing.

But for Lawrence we would have zero wins rather than one this season, of course. As with the Keogh haters, there remains a question to which the haters appear to have no answer: why is it that successive managers at club and international level continually pick these players if they are apparently so poor? Is it possible that all of these managers know a little more about it than the likes of VC?

Now then Vidal, being compared to Colin is the worst insult I've ever had.

I don't hate Lawrence, I've never met him, but I don't like what I see on the pitch 7 matches out of 8. In the Brentford match he went dribbling up the field, lost it and watched them score. Nearly every time he loses the ball he stands and watches the proceedings.

I thought the TV chaps thought he had done it deliberately, they said he had moved his body to one side so he could get the player. It was over the top and I've seen plenty of players sent off for that and quite rightly. How can Lawrence get booked 5 times in 7 games? He hardly bothers to tackle, he is just petulant.

I say again, I don't like Colin's tactics or the way his players fall around and hoof the ball up the field. And I am not the only Rams fan who thinks Lawrence is an expensive luxury we cannot afford.

After the way Rowett effed up at Stoke maybe I couldn't do much worse, I have managed a team which won a league and several cups. Don't ask me who cuz I ain't saying, but it's true.

Oh and stop having a go at me or I will start grumbling about the place where I think you work. I've seen a lot recently.

VC, I doubt you are likely to be more critical of my employer than I am, so feel free if it makes you feel better. We all have our opinions about players but on occasions the hyperbole gets ludicrous. But the fact that you once used to rub the linament into the thighs of the cream of the clientele of the Dog and Duck on a Sunday morning is certainly impressive.

We looked decent yesterday. The turnovers ( and admittedly they were numerous) was the team responding to Cocu’s mantra of getting in moving quicker. It meant taking risks and being braver and we did put ourselves under pressure at times. But it plays to our strengths and we did get through them. It was the best attacking display I’ve seen this season at home.
They are a formidable defensive unit but we certainly had them scrambling on occasion.

I’m feeling positive, the fans clapped the team off. The roots of Cocu’s vision are sprouting.
Good things to come. Perhaps not away at Leeds but it’ll come.

That’s what I reckon too, Rameses.

Sounds like something out of a Harry Potter novel.

Professor Sprout was one of Vidal's old dermatology lecturers you know.......

Vidal I was excited when we signed Tommy, I had heard he was a good player. For the first few games I was waiting for him to shine, but then I realised we had been sold a pup. It is not just this year, he has been poor since he came. I never liked Ince but he was several times the player Tommy is. He just isn't getting any better and you know I don't go around slagging our players. You won't find me criticising Keogh or Roos for their mistakes at Wembley because I can see that they are trying. I know Tommy has had a rough time recently, but he is well paid for his work and I'd like to see more effort.

How did you know I was manager of the Dog and Duck?

Criticism of a player is perfectly justified - particularly from such a seasoned observer.

However, there is a salutary tale. One much-loved, and arguably our finest poster, became obsessed with the perceived failings of one particular defender. He was unable to see reason and became quite mad.

Forced to retire from the boards, now gibbering to himself and in need of consent care.........

If you mean the game v QPR, that was Buxton's mistake, not Keogh's

I certainly wouldn't criticise Bucko, I love him.

It was Wally's mistake at Wembley, he took off Hughes and Russell and brought on Bryson and Dawkins. When they went to 10 men he should have brought on Bamford who would have scored, we would have won and we would now be in the Champions League.

posted on 14/9/19

You’ll find me criticising Roos because he is a poor mans Carson and I cringe every time the ball is crossed into the box.

posted on 14/9/19

I don’t see a lack of effort at all with Lawrence. I see lack of strength and often poor technique with the dead ball. But he gets into good positions, he did that a lot yesterday, and that takes effort. He nearly won the game late on when he got on the end of Marriott’s cross. Also, he shows bravery on the ball, by trying to run with it, to take players on. When you do that and lose it then you get stick, but I prefer a creative player to attempt something than to take the easy option and pass it back to the full back or centre half. I’ve been critical of him quite a lot and I wouldn’t mind if we sold him for a decent enough fee, but I think at the moment he provides a greater threat to opponents from a wide position than any of the alternatives, and that’s why he gets selected.

He doesn’t like the physical stuff, that’s plain. His bookings this season have probably come from over-compensating for this, by trying to show he can mix it and doing silly fouls. If it was a player you liked then you would say that it shows passion. If you hate the player then you call it petulance.

Evening all.
I went on me jollies after the Brizzle game, so it's good to see opinions (conflicted or not) on our seemingly downward spiral. My opinion, FWIW, is that we stick with TL, frustrating as he is - he's not occupying a space that would otherwise be occupied by a world beater we've got in waiting. Buckle-up, lads (& lasses) it's going to be a long hard slog without Mount & Wilson's goals, but we've got a clever, experienced manager.
Also, ballcocks to Brexit.

Sheepy. Rameses views are very representative of the bulk of our thinking fans. Cocu will get us there and the younguns of our squad will be greatly encouraged. I thank that is a work in progress and a MM/Cocu plan coming to fruition soon.
What's wrong with ballocks to Brexit and Boris?

Let me upset some folk!!!
I'm glad you have faith in Cocu, I certainly have not.
He's done nothing for me, in selection, tactics, subs and man management.
Lawrence, Jozefzoon.and Huddlestone not fit for purpose.
The much called for entry of Martin came with 5 mins left.
If Mel gets rid of Cocu today it will be far too late for me
