Kind off you VC. Don't carry a torch for Sammon - just supported the underdog so to speak.....and imagine what a proper coach could have got out of him

WE ARE LEAVING AND I WIILL BE HIGHLY DELIGHTED WHEN WE DO

Just do not expect clean break if we leave without a break. It will go on for years and cost £billions.

I don't think even the great Brian Clough could have made a player out of him. Mind you if they had moved the goals a few feet one way he would have scored dozens.

I agree it is a football forum but remoaners keep spouting so we have to answer, We have been in the eu for over 40 years years now so you would have to be well into your 60s now to remember what it was like before, I do, and from what I see it is only a vehicle for the likes of Blair to earn vast sums as advisors for this that and the other, and we gave away the fishing rights which should have been a no no. We as a nation have gained very little from membership
Paterson is a better player than Lawrence and has always performed well against us when at the dogs
About Cocu, Rooney would be well advised to stay where he is he will learn about coaching from Mickey mouse in Disneyland
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you like gammon?

I said sensible answers, not unsustainable rantings.

I certainly wouldn't criticise Bucko, I love him.

So Buxton is beyond criticism?

Correct, Buxton is a football genius and a great man, an inspiration to us all.

Well, as we saw with Forest yesterday, it is still the anyone can beat anyone, anytime part of the season. Time will tell
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not quite anyone Heb, as you lot under Coco have only won once so far.

Uncle Tom should remember that Britain was referred to as the 'Sick Man Of Europe' before we joined the EEC in 74. Enjoy the steroid full American beef Uncle T!
You're obviously eating it raw.

posted on 16/9/19

You are wrong Bear, we were the sick man of Europe in 1978 and1979 when Jim Callaghan was PM. The expression was used because of all the many strikes at the time, like not being to bury the dead, fuel strikes, British Leyland were on strike more than they went to work etc.

So joining the EEC had nothing to do with being the sick man of Europe, it was the consequence of a Labour government.

I went to America a few years ago and thought their steak was fantastic.

posted on 16/9/19

We were really sick when we voted that ratbag Thatcher as PM. Thankfully the EU rescued us by preventing the excesses of Thatcherism thus making theTory right hate the EU. Now Moggy, de Pfeffel and Gove have an opportunity to change the nation in to the new Thatcherite capitalist Jerusalem they desire. Tough on the rest of nation though.

The economic problems of the 70s were the product of raging Inflation which started in the late 60s and were presided over by successive Labour and Tory governments. Inflation peaked under Thatcher.

VC10 rewriting history Daily Mail style. There were major strikes throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s under successive governments. The most debilitating for the nation were the electricians strike and the miners both under Heath. The effect of these strikes was gradually to increase living standards and social mobility. The destruction of the unions is reversing this.

Fat Americans eating unsustainable quantities of beef are destroying the planet so it is hardly surprising to hear a word of praise for US steaks from a capitalist without a conscience.

Ha ha ha I knew Spart would bite.

You have surprised me that you voted for Maggie, I can hardly believe it.

posted on 16/9/19

I bought my first house from her uncle. He didn't like her either. She was never Maggie just as Johnson isn't Boris. Newspaper names to try and make these horrible people more friendly to the electorate.

Leaving the EU is the biggest and most important event we will ever face, It will leave most of us much worse off, reduce our national security, ruin many sound businesses, reduce food safety, give more power and infuence to big business, China, Putin and Trump. Thus it is simply natural for folk to express their views on the matter and this football forum is the ideal as well as the most inappropriate place to express such views.
Folk have time to consider and they have anonymity so the views expressed are - in the main - more valid than in the more stressful open society when personalities can clash more volubly than on these posts.
And if folk believe th issue will be all over once we have left, they are woefully mistaken. There are many intricate details yet to be sorted out and many more miles to travel on this issue. Our leaving will increase, not reduce, these matters.

For once we're in agreement Ramdini!

posted on 16/9/19

I have come to the conclusion that Spart is a spoof cartoon Marxist and this a probable a trailer for a film - character rumoured to be played by Sacha Baron Cohen

posted on 16/9/19

Ramdini, that is your opinion. Some people don't think all these scares are true. I certainly wouldn't have voted leave if I thought it would ruin the country. I think the country will do better away from the corrupt undemocratic EU. Have you seen that EU bigwig talking about creating an Empire? I thought that was what we wanted to get away from.

We usually agree with football but I have to disagree with your thoughts re Brexit. If by some miracle we leave on October 31st, a few months later we will wonder what all the fuss was about. I can't see why we couldn't prosper on our own like Australia.

posted on 16/9/19

Where I disagree you, Ramdini, is that this is the appropriate place to discuss this. It will eventually lead to clashes and the eventual death of the board. I shall probably only visit on match days in the near future. Nobody is interested in hearing about my political leanings and Im certainly not interested in theirs. People can accept that their view on football matters is questionable, but not that their political viewpoint is wrong. As you say, there are many more places to argue the to$$ over politics. Brexit appears to be changing our lives for the worse, in yet another way.

Anybody that wants Cocu sacked would have probably sacked Brian Clough,Arthur Cox and Jim Smith. That just shows the mentality of even suggesting it.

I also agree with Heb!
