Mind you Blackstar I'll never forget your posts begging us to buy Maguire. Some of the oddest things I've read.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m delighted we got £80m for him. I can honestly tell you that we haven’t really missed him. We’re sat 5th in the table having played Chelsea and United and defensively we look solid. It’s going forward that’s our problem. Soyuncu has in general been a really good replacement

Btw that Soyuncu is sheite
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He certainly isn't. Didn't see the pen but he's been great for us this season. 1 game doesn't make a player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was awful today. Was getting turned inside out
----------------------------------------------------------------------
just so desperate to cling on to the belief that Maguire is value for money at £80m. The guy has got the pace of an oak tree

I have never ever said Maguire is value for money...quite the opposite. You are the desperate one trying to laugh at us when you have a United reject and some CB who isn't fit to lace Harrys boots

Soyuncu looks decent to me. So too Maguire.

I doubt Utd or Leicester will finish more than a place apart either.

Trying to laugh at you? Well it doesn’t really take much effort does it? £80m for Harry Maguire, a world record fee for a player who moves like concrete is hilarious. I’m not the only person laughing in fairness. Soyuncu is just a kid but has got rave reviews this season and looks decent. Evans is absolutely solid for us - bizarre that you let him go while keeping Phil Jones

Your mgr got it wrong today...wrong set up.

Gray ahead of either Barnes or Albrighton? 2 DM’s? Maddison wide?

Hamza + Ndidi starting together - has it worked for you lot before? Then he brings on Perez

We were not that better - but we had more desire to grab the 3pts

Glad it’s blatantly obvious to a Utd fan. Can you give Rodgers a call and explain to him because I’m sick of him playing Maddison wide!

I didn’t pay a penny lad. We paid over the odds but we can easily afford it as we have bags full of cash. We had players out today and we dealt with you I thought with ease. Must be worrying from your perspective. You play pretty football but you have very little to your game going forward with only Maddison able to do anything. Oh and from watching that Soyuncu or whatever his name was we should have targeted him more, Rashford was turning him inside out at times and his passing was very poor

posted on 14/9/19

Totally agree with BS on this, as soon as you see 2 CDMs in a Leicester team you are in for a painful watch.

Hamza, for me, is never going to be good enough to play at this level. He simply isnt good enough on the ball - Utd targeted him on the press today, everyone can see that he is clumsy with his touch and predictably plays to the same CB all the time - this just invites the opponents to press him.

Why sign Praet??? He has been Sampdorias best player for the last 2 seasons, from centre mid, and BR sticks him on the bench and plays Hamza - its just insane.

BR wants to play a possession based game, and he picks Gray and Hamza - these boys couldnt keep hold of the flu!!

Maddison and Tielemans in the middle ahead of Ndidi - all blinking season please BR. Stop giving the top 6 too much respect.

I think the reason we struggled today was because of how poor we were pushing down the flanks. Gray’s inclusion certainly contributed to this but our main tactical influence from this perspective is the pace and attacking intent from Chilwell and Ricardo. Both of these have been better than they have been worse since nailing down their relative positions so I’m not overly concerned about them from a personnel point of view. Gray did well when he came on last fixture so I understand his inclusion , particularly if he has been performing in training (although for me personally, I perhaps still wouldn’t have seen it as enough to earn a start, but it wasn’t completely out of the blue).

In terms of Choudhury and Ndidi - I completely understand what the manager is trying to do, but it does rely on the aforementioned full backs having a good game. So whilst I don’t have an issue with this as a main/primary tactic, we do need to develop a quality ‘plan B’ if we are to successfully challenge for a top 6 position.

I believe Praet was a player we’ve scouted for a while, certainly before Rodgers and expect he getting up to speed with the tempo of the PL and, additionally, unless he is absolutely ripping up trees in training I can understand why he isn’t starting at the moment.

Things to work on, but we are only a few games in and 2 points behind Manchester City. I think it would also be worth reflecting on the fact that it is mainly the press that has been beating the drum about us taking on the ‘big teams’ positionally speaking and it was (irrelevant of their current quality or lack of) an away fixture at Old Trafford (against a team we generally always struggle to beat).

In basic terms, we simply just didn’t turn up today...although on another day could have walked away from a dour 0-0 with a respectable point.

Not sure we need to be panicking just yet...participatory as we are looking to bring through a team full of youth and, as a result, several learning curves.

Wow! How can an opposition fan get it so right with what personnel & system we should have had?

Or, as Mersey says, is it that obvious?

For me, you'll not find many who would question Rodger's ability or process. But it sounds to me like some are seeing a team doing the same things but the man expects different results. While at Celtic Rodger's had this same problem. He refused to accept the need to offer a quick out ball. Possession play killing all speed and fluency. Does this sound familiar? Yet BR would not accept responsibility when results wouldn't come. His system was beyond reproach. I think it's a touch of the ego after a period of success at Celtic. He is a great manager, but when he gets it wrong refuses to admit to fault. Hope he turns it around for you.

In the games where we've played with one defensive midfielder with Tielemans and Maddison in the middle we've won and Vardy has been involved, which is why we've won. In the games where he's played two CDM's which has isolated Vardy, we've drawn and lost. Rodgers gave too much respect to Wolves, Chelsea and United and rather than playing to our strengths and making them worry about stopping us, he's tried to contain their threats and it's not worked. When he plays two CDM's and Maddison out wide you know before a ball has been locked that it won't work. It's frustrating because we can be a lot better if we play to our strengths.

We are best with Ndidi, Tielemans and Maddison in the middle with two wingers. This gets Vardy in the game and our most creative player in his best position not stuck out wide. We made it easy for you but if we had played to our strengths i'm sure it would have been a very different game. We were very poor and you were no better.

i like him, but not sure how good he is.

A sign of how far united have fallen that their fans are sparring with Leicester United are bang average, which is why Rodgers tactics are so bemusing. Could and should have got a point at least. They will finish 6th again despite shelling out more money on overrated players

Lingard is rubbish. Pogba and Martial both played against Wolves and you didn't beat them. I don't think United are very good at all and if we'd played to our strengths I certainly don't think we would have lost. just so desperate to cling on to the belief that Maguire is value for money at £80m. The guy has got the pace of an oak tree
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have never ever said Maguire is value for money...quite the opposite. You are the desperate one trying to laugh at us when you have a United reject and some CB who isn't fit to lace Harrys boots
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trying to laugh at you? Well it doesn’t really take much effort does it? £80m for Harry Maguire, a world record fee for a player who moves like concrete is hilarious. I’m not the only person laughing in fairness. Soyuncu is just a kid but has got rave reviews this season and looks decent. Evans is absolutely solid for us - bizarre that you let him go while keeping Phil Jones

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You coped with us with ease simply because Rodgers got it all wrong. Two CDM's has proven not to work in the Wolves and Chelsea game so why we did it again yesterday I just don't understand.

If my aunty had balls she would be my uncle.
If if we had some of our injured players fit it would have been a very different game.

Your aunty probably does have balls. And webbed feet.

I genuinely don’t get this reference to us playing 4-3-3 both in terms of starting formation or interchanging formation when we switch from defence to attack?
