Olympiacos on Wednesday

This is a potential banana skin, without question. So is Red Star too. All of our away games in this group are tough in their own way.

Olympiacios have had some decent results at home over the years.

Need to be at it then mate from the off. No silly early goals conceded. Should score at the other end though.

I believe the atmosphere at Olympiacos will be very hostile, so the players need to be ready for that. The bookies make us strong favourites though, so that tells you something.

Yea, I expect us to win but it has the potential to go wrong.

Prediction - Spurs to leather them on the pitch and get leathered by their fans off the pitch.

Our group is winnable, but if you assume Bayern will top it then it’s between us and Olympiacos to come second. On that basis, we can’t afford to lose really.

It will be hostile but Greek football of late is piiisshh - I just want a good professional performance - don’t shoot ourselves in the foot: no early calamity defending, no OG, no giving away pens, no falling to sleep with 10 to go. Do that, and this should be straight forward.

Agreed. A loss will see us playing catch up already. The way things planned out last season won’t happen very often - cast our minds back a few years earlier when we choked a group with Monaco, CSKA and Leverkusen

Are Bayern really that good these days? I don`t think we should just be aiming for second place. Spurs should definitely be capable of beating Bayern at home.

i would say we are a similar standard to Bayern.

I`d rest Toby, Rose, Son/Kane and Eriksen for this one and bring in Sanchez, Davies, Lucas and Dele (if fit). We need to manage Kane`s workload if we can.

Parrot on the bench to come on for Kane if we are winning in the second half

posted on 16/9/19

I'd say start strong with a couple rotations.

Play a fast intensive game and our quality would no doubt win through......take players off when the job looks done.

Always think its dangerous to start weakened and then try and recover.

Lloris

Aurier Aldi Vertonghen Davies

NDombele Winks Eriksen

Son Kane Alli

We are allowed a bench of 12 so can throw everyone on there to keep options open.....would be good to see the likes of Dier & Sessegnon get a bit of time as they are yet to kick a ball

Sorry mate you cannot rest all your best players for CL matches, and expect to progress. Poch tried all that three seasons ago, and Spurs never made it out of one of the easiest groups possible.

We know how Spurs perform, when Eriksen does not start, he can have a rest against Colchester.

Play your strongest team, then take players off when the game is safely in the bag.

Yes I thought it was ridiculous to leave Kane on until the 85th minute on Saturday. Reminded me of the stupidity of bringing him on at Tranmere last season.

Whether he likes it or not give him a rest.

evening kick off in Greece on Wednesday night followed by lunchtime ko on Saturday away at Leicester.

Do the TV schedule decision makers have any regard to midweek fixtures. Do any have a brain in their heads?

Both Liverpool and Chelsea (who play each other) have Tuesday games - Surely Chelsea v Liverpool Saturday lunch and Leicester v Spurs Sunday 4pm ko.

It`s Olympiacos Sandy, we should be able to win with a few changes, it`s a squad game and we will need a fresh team for a difficult trip to Leicester 66 hours later.
