If we are still in the EL after Christmas then we’ll keep him. If not, we will sell him to the highest bidder.

No need to sell him before the summer imo

We are in rude financial health, so I don't expect to see him leave this season. He might very well get his big move in the summer and annoying as that is, if the figures are right then we just could not be turning that down.
It would also be unfair on the lad, who never makes a fuss were we to deny him a move of that scale.
Where do we find the next Eddy? We were lucky we had him when Dembele left to step up, if this is the model we need to keep churning out the gems. One thing Celtic can say to perspective signings is look at VVD, Wanyama, Dembele and probably Eddy, come here and we have a very good track record of getting you to the top level.

and we need to be getting the replacement in in January, not end of August

He'll go next summer unless the title is already sewn up by end of January.

He still has 3 years on his deal so we'll get top dollar and i think it depends where he goes. Assuming he does continue to get better this season and have a terrific season then If he goes to the EPL, he'll go for £30 million. If he goes to Italy we'll probably only get £20 million.

He has taken his game to another level i will admit that. Physically he seems better this season and learning how to use his frame more. You will get good money for him there is no doubt.

I think he will leave when he wants to. He is in the position of knowing he is pretty much undroppable due to being on a completely different level to your other strikers.

It’s an interesting point about being undroppable. Griffiths and Bayo are a million miles off Eddy’s level so it wouldn’t be suspiring for him to have a dip and not have a concern about being dropped.

exactly, he will know he is in the position of making demands or he will drop tools and hold the cards due to the replacements nowhere near ready it seems to step up in his place. (im not saying he is the sorta person who would do that, no idea) I may be wrong and Bayo might be a player but I think we would have seen more of him if he was capable enough.

Bayo came on Saturday, he was atrocious.

He looked decent against Hearts but fluck me he looked like he hadn’t played a game before in his life on Saturday.

I think it`s the same situation as with Tierney. Whoever comes in will almost certainly be a drop in quality, as we can`t afford anyone at that level. We were lucky we had him when Dembélé left.

Edouard seems to have his head screwed on properly, so I don`t expect a strop. He might have a dip in form, as he`s only 21, but I would doubt it`s an attitude problem.

from a celtic point of view your best bet might be to try and get a prospect on loan again in January to see his level and potential much like you did with Edouard with an option to buy...even if its something like 8/9m that way you have the choice come summer?

I said it recently but we’ve probably took Dembele and Edouard for granted the last 3 and a bit seasons so far.

Two top, top strikers and we’ll likely hit a wee bald patch in terms of finding boys like it again.

We got both for around £9.5 million and we’ll likely make a £35-40 million profit!

We will need to be doing some proper work for strikers also. Defoe is only gonna decline he cant get better so in order to progress we need to replace him (and he is only on loan) With Alfredo you have no idea if he will be staying so as a bare minimum we will need 2 strikers next year. We should be mainly focusing our efforts on that asap and look to tie up deals well before January IMO even if they arent signing til summer

It is such a shame that these players only stay for a while but he can go with upmost welcome (couple of seasons please......) Hes a cool customer he seems happy and relaxed here and is very young still.

Honestly still cant get the argument from some quarters comparing him to Morelos (Who is an excellent finisher btw) just not on Eddys level with calmness and composure at the right times in the BIG games.

I would like to think we can start getting game time to Oko-Flex, Dembele, Afolabi due to the amount of matches we play. Get next one off the conveyor belt and re-invest the cash we get. (Pete will have a decent sell on clause also surely)

Morelos finishing is a weird one I dont think he is the same level of finisher as edouard. He doesnt have his composure, the are polar opposites if edoard goes through and has options for how to finish it and time his decision making is far far higher than morelos.

However Morelos appetite, hunger and desire and freakish strength and surprising acceleration for someone his build is excellent. Im telling you mould the two together and you have one of the best strikers ever!

Morelos heading ability is shocking yet he has scored some amount with his nut. he has that instinct of being in the right place.

Edouard kinda does what you expect him to do, you can see the space, see where to exploit a defence and he normally does that. Morelos tends to do things when you dont think he can, u cant see how he is gonna turn a defender and he does, you dont see enough space behind someone yet he usually gets it past him and gets on the ball again if you know what i mean? When morelos aint thinking too much he is at his best when he just lets things happen.

Edouard from what I have seen is at his best when he is thinking about things, he already knows what he is gonna do when he receives it it seems
