He's a good squad player, decent enough to fill in when we need him, but he's never produced the form that would see him be one of the first names on the team sheet, and I don't believe he will ever produce that. Why would he when he hasn't already after 6 years?

Because he has always been injured.

Had a lot of injuries to be fair to him. He was class at the start of last season before he got injured.

Been good this season so far.

He was the first player back in the summer. Cut his holiday short to work on his fitness.

Fair play to him

Let's not kid ourselves, it isn't just injuries. He rarely produces MOTM performances when he plays. They can be good 7 out of 10 displays sometimes but never often more than that.

Give him time on the pitch by all means while he's in this form but I'm not convinced he'll reach the level of Son or Eriksen for example.

His injuries are usually bad ones. Ones that put him out for months at a time.

Takes time to get 100% fit and then needs a run of games to get back to his best.

Let's see how he does this season. If he stays injury free, I'm sure he'll perform and the goals will come

Fair play, I don't rate him that highly but it's nice to hear players say things like that about your club.

Loads of games so a good chance for him to prove himself in the next month.

Crazy to think how he's become a completely different player to the one we bought

Worked hard to make sure he was a valuable squad member

I bet he would have put way more effort in than Eriksen did in that champions league final.

Brilliant squad player no doubt about it. Should he start every game ? Probably not, but he’s doing the business so far this season so who’s to complain. Still, a great squad player to have in the ranks.

Probably would but imagine Poch hadn't played Eriksen and we lost, he'd have been slaughtered even more than he did for dropping Lucas.

Having him as your worst attacking option is a good thing let's put it like that

Exactly, he’s part of about 7 attacking options behind Kane.

We are good in that position

That's it.

My view too. He was bought on a fanfare of someone who is a young "Messi" like playmaker. Yes, I recall that. We were then told he was going to need 1 or 2 seasons to get used to the pace of the premier league.

He's had more than that to show us his ability to take the game by the scruff of the neck and turn the game to our favour. Can he do that? No fkn way!

He is more a bit part player and though I did appreciate a lot his efforts and chasing down every ball, but by now I was expecting to see something more than running round like a headless chicken.

His goal on Sat is more due to a sublime move by the team and the setup by Kane, and all he had to do is meet the ball!

I am fine with him being a squad player but when Poch starts paying him instead of Eriksen, like he did against Villa/Newcastle, I think that's a very poor judgement.

I guess Lamela needs to prove it to the club that he can achieve a higher level of contributions, other than petulant displays that gets him carded.

Only two yellow cards out of 5 games not bad

Don't know about that. He ran his tiits off to get himself in the position.

He was involved in Son's 2nd too, that ball into the middle with the outside of his foot. Helped rip Palace apart.

He was good against Arsenal too. Ran back and made some important challenges.

Like I said, if he stays fit and gets a run of games under his belt, judge him then

Loyal player who gives 100%. That is all i ask of Spurs players.

We know we are not going to have the star studded squad of those squad propped up by the wealth of a nation.

Look at Liverpools back up....Shaquiri, Milner Ox, Origi, Gomez. You don't need world beaters in a squad to win stuff, you need a fine balance of top quality and desire & commitment. Lamela has the latter 2 in bucket loads and that's why he is trusted by Poch.

we didn't win anything with class players like Bale Modric VDV King and the rest ..... so a bit harsh to pick on sissoko and lamela who are both very good squad options.
