I think that no matter what N'tcham has to start, its tailored made for him this game, in France, chance to show off to his countrymen how he is doing, can play a pass that can win a game. Him, Christie, and Eddy could make a few chances.

Play McGregor with Brown in the middle, N'tcham just in front with Christie on the left able to come inside same with forrest on the right.

Eddy in front and the defence to be a bit more defensive minded at the back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
'defensive minded'...but you've picked Julien and Boli?

Here's my sad prediction.

Those two will get found out big time in Europe starting on Thursday and we'll have to rely on Forster to save us from an absolute doing. We'll lose by a couple at least.

I'm looking forward to your match as well, a nice wee appetiser before the main event.

I suspect both sides will be well matched and it will be close.

Straight from Mr Gerrard himself about 4 weeks ago

But the fascinating thing is, is Jamie’s level before good enough to fight for a starting spot here?

“That’s the challenge for him. We need to help him find the best solution to get back to his peak, his A-game, as quickly as he can.

“It’s not going to happen overnight. I predict it could take four to six months.

“I’ll have a chat with Jamie and see what we think is best. But a loan will be one thing on the agenda.

“We’ll give him support and listen to him. If he’s not up for a loan, if he’s not up for reserve games, if he wants to do it through training on his own, we’ll listen and as a group decide.

“But he needs as much football as possible at a decent level to get himself back where he was. Then he can compete for a place here.”

4 to 6 months. The lad has done well.

The manager things he needs to be on his A-game before he can even compete for a place.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
And last night he said he's been surprised at his progress and the strength etc has come back over the last week-10 days.

He's not going to comeback and be asked to start games in a row or even play 90mins.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye...because we now know what happens when you pitch a player in before he's ready.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll take Gerrard thinking he's ready over you thinking he's not.

You see, he works with him each day and you....don't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Is this Kent or Murphy we are talking about this time?

I don't want to make another koont of it and - yes like last time I cant be ersed reading the thread
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I knew it wasn't just me that was confused.

It's definitely Murphy this time.

And for the co-efficient i hope Celtic get a result in Rennes. I've got my eye on the 2 CL spots for Scotland

Docherty playing over in Ballymena tonight in the Tunnocks Teacake Trophy.

I really don't understand why we didn't try to capitalise on his successful loan spell last season and get some cash back for him.

He has come back stronger, more mature and experienced but he is technically limited and simply not good enough for the Rangers first team.

We should have been able to get around £1m for him after 10 goals from midfield and several awards.

I think realistic. I can see the deficiencies in my own team.
Many people thought Jullien and Boli were ropey before the Rangers game. They went to Ibrox and did oK against a Rangers team that was poor on the day.

I wasn't convinced by either before Ibrox and I'm not now. I'm about 75% convinced that Jullien isn't very good and I'm 100% convinced that Boli will get shown up under any pressure at all.

Do you think they're good ?

We will be more pragmatic under Lennon especially away from home, but if you look at our squad its just not got the players to sit in and park the bus.

Rightly so as that is not fooking use to us in domestic football which is our primary focus.

I suppose you could line up with those a back 4 including Taylor and sit Brown just in front of them with McGregor and N'tcham and Boli in front of him.

With Eddy and Forrest/Chrsitie up top, but how neggy is that

Watty Smith neggy that is
----------------------------------------------------------------------
performances matter not a jot in europe all about the the results. Celtic should get bodies behind the ball, be as organised as possible for the first half and play on the counter ... you have the attacking players to do so in Forrest and Edoaurd. Get into half time at least level and they will start to make mistakes and opening will happen by themselves.

Thats the only way I can see any kind of result....Open up and try and play against them and they will tear you apart, they have pace and good movement about them.

Get organised, be combative and see if they are up for the fight...sometimes schite it when you do this to them

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Over the piece Goldson has been very good for Rangers. He is a good organiser, decent in the air and decent on the ball.

He needs to be stronger in certain situations - like when he gets dragged out wide he needs to learn to just take the man out every now and then.

Defenders make mistakes though - and because of the nature of the position they often lead to a goal and it gets highlighted.

Goldson only made a few significant mistakes in over 50 games last season. He did well over the piece.

We need a defender that can bring the ball out from the back and try to play it out. Too many teams we play sit back, let the centre backs have the ball and cram 11 bodies back into the final 30 yards of the park.

Don't get me wrong - he isn't top level stuff but you need a sense of perspective - this is an age when a Bristol City centre half you have never heard of goes for over £20m.

Hope the team is

McGregor
Tav-Katic-Helander-Barasic
Kamara-Davis-King
Arfield-Morelos-Barker

Don't see Goldson or Aribo being dropped though, sadly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Goldson seems undroppable.

Helander looks decent and it's time for him to start getting games but the 3 should be rotated rather than Katic v Helander to partner Goldson.

Forgot about King, still not sure what kind of player he is. I'd persevere with Aribo but he needs to raise it again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree, but it appears he's one of Gerrards favourites...

Not a fan of rotating centre backs but I think we need to, in order to find the best pairing for us. For example I think Edmundson is the most comfortable on the ball for us, so would be better for games at Ibrox where teams sit in?

I'm not a huge fan of Aribo, plus he just looks out of sorts the past few weeks. Maybe missing a game will make him realise he's not undroppable? Plus King looked decent at the weekend.

Boli has looked decent last few games but he was terrible before that a mean he gave a away a shocking penalty a few days before the Rangers game

Jullien looked class against Rangers but I feel his positioning at times is suspect, you can see how he gets so many yellow cards

Boli has been excellent his last 2 games.

Julien was a bit shaky on Saturday there but he was superb against AIK as well as Rangers.

I fancy the two of them to keep on improving tbh.
