No trolling here, the cyclists where I live are bonkers.

It doesnt say anything, which is how it's been since I signed up.

I'm a serial lurker but the issue of cyclists being a pain in the backside really gets up my nose

If car drivers want to drive on our roads and then they should be made to pay income tax like we do

The most amusing thing about cyclists is that they are so critical of drivers whilst not acknowledging how bad cyclists are - the number of cyclists flouting the laws and threatening pedestrians (especially small children) on pavements is staggering...

I'm a massive driving fan but I'll be the first to admit that we as drivers are terrible at driving. That's coming from a big car fan as well btw. All the best to cyclists in the coming weeks. From a die hard motorist.

So you've spoken to those cyclists about their views on drivers, have you?

You're not making any sense, which is fairly typical when people start whining about cyclists.

On my way home from work today I could barely walk on the pavement for all the cyclists who were threatening children.

Clearly this is a massive issue.

Yikes.

Most bikes now are soft as $hyte anyway, back in the day if you were hit by a car whilst riding your Raleigh Grifter it was 50/50 who came off worse

posted on 26/9/19

Grifter's were beasts, but preferred chopper's!

This one's clearly a car driver posing as a cyclist:

I quite like the idea of pretending to belong to one group and acting like a diick and it makes that group look bad.

posted on 26/9/19

Can't imagine anyone on here wanting to try that

I don't mean 'threatening' by threatening to punch them, I mean threatening to run them the f**k over - good grief isn't it obvious ? Bad cyclist behaviour is a constant problem.

As you seem incapable of looking it up yourself here is an example:of the sort of cyclists operating in their typical way in London, it took me ten seconds to find :-

You use a word like threatening to try and make your point more credible than it is.

How many people are actually hurt by cyclists? How much of a problem is this?

Face it - your dislike of people riding bikes has no logical basis and to discuss this in the same breath as the problem of bad drivers is ridiculous.

What I said in my onlyother post on this thread:

So many of the problems we have in society are a consequence of dehumanising and stereotyping individuals (who more often than not we don't even know) and lumping them into an antagonist group based on a single trait.

Not all Scots are like Barry.

-----

In other words, there are cants in all walks of like. Fortunatey they're only a minority, but a minority who often spoils it for the rest of us - and we often make the mistake of classifying anyone in the group of people we identify them with as being the same.

An ample majority of cyclists and drivers are absolutely fine people. I overtake loads of cyclists on the roads every day, and see lots of cars overtaking them too. There is rarely, if ever, a problem.

Even if you had a problem with a driver every single day, when you stop to think about the 100s and 100s of cars you cross then you can see it's a tiny number out of the total. Likewise drivers and cyclists.

The mistake you make is speaking of bad cyclists and bad drivers as if they are comparable.

They’re not.

Bad driving kills people every day. It is a serious issue in society that requires attention.

Bad cycling is barely more than an irritant. Yes there are examples where it is more serious than that but they are relatively rare.

The two are not comparable, which is why when you whine about cyclists not acknowledging there are bad cyclists as well as bad drivers, you’re entirely missing the point.
