At 10 or 11 Celtic and Rangers have nothing to fear against these supposedly big teams and have shown that consistently over the years. It is 16 onwards it gets tougher when those teams really do buy in quality.

I know you're more qualified than me to speak on this Silver but what I saw tonight compared to some of the stuff Celtic put out of our kids at that age is almost night and day.

It's not just the technical ability (they're on par).. it's the way they play and build attacks. It's on another level.

I was so surprised at how much they looked like the first team in their ability to create chances and pull the opposition apart. They're clearly being taught tactics and movement better.

I know what’s you mean, Juke. If you don’t watch youth football regularly then seeing good teams can indeed take your breath away. Call Sign, Wieg, CT and others that have had links to the game here will tell you even they are blown away when they see our own club youth teams.

A few years back Celtic tried playing in the Glasgow district youth league playing a team TWO years younger. Any more would have been dangerous physically. We were still pumping teams double figures within 30 minutes. As it was it was still dangerous with frustrated kids used to winning being humbled by tiny opposition ripping the pash and resorted to kicking out egged on by the Neanderthals on the sidelines urging legs to be broken.

There really is not much between the top clubs at that age. What makes the difference is usually one or two exceptional players. The wee town of Bassavelde in Belgium has a mini U13 self-styled champions league tournament that Celtic won twice in recent years. Having Dembele and Morrison definitely helped in 2016. Not sure in 2017 but take a look at the teams competing https://www.tornooibassevelde.be/v3/einduitslagen.php?editie=2017. Barca, RM, PSG, Ajax, Dortmund all big teams that didn’t win.

Year I was there Genk and Barca had the clearly outstanding players. Boys that were already men.

IMHO the ideal team would have USA teamwork and athleticism, Spanish technical, German organisation and Scottish determination.

I thought that Morrison wasn't particularly highly rated and the German interest sort of came out of the blue?

I see Billy Gilmour started for Chelsea last night, and by all accounts had a good game. Good to see young Scottish players making it through.

Tough one, Lauders. The interest out of the blue is probably correct. Enough people rated him highly. Don't think I ever heard anyone slate him significantly?

My knowledge on it is coming from here and places like it tbh.
Probably went under the radar a bit?

I watched Morrison once and he was hopeless but to be fair he got a head knock.

That boy at right back that night signed for Hamilton, i've never seen a worse footballer at that age group in all my years.

He broke his nose that incident, NNH.

Forrest is a decent player went to Hamilton because he was being played at RB against his wishes to play CM and with no other natural RB coming through he was destined for another season there? Now we are playing a CH there.
