A new test for Sabris men
We’ve beat promotion contenders, playoff contenders, playoff chasers, relegation scrappers, all styles and sizes.
Teams in the middle that blow hot one minute then cold the next are last on the list. Beat Blackburn and we have licence to say we can get a result against anyone.
Not sure if we will but I’m certain we’ll be competitive on the night.
Not won up at Ewood since 2013. Blackburn have been tough opponents over recent years for Forest. They’ve won the last two at the CG v the Reds and have generally held the Indian sign over them. About time Forest put that record right and got a decent result against them.
Their 3-1 win at the CG produced the first cracks of the Pearce regime following the whirlwind start to his regime. They also famously tonked Forest 7-0 in the 90’s after stealing Lars Bohinen for peanuts. They also did Forest 2-0 at home when the Reds had a whirlwind returnto the Prem in 94/95 under Frank Clark when it had looked like the Reds could be players in the race for the title that season.
All in all, not too many happy memories of facing the blue and white halves. Probably one that sticks out was the Bart-Williams inspired 2-1 win up at Ewood in 1999 that dragged them through the trapdoor with Forest that season. It was a silver lining to what had been a rotten season.
There are therefore plenty of reasons why I would love to see Forest give them a hiding. I also have a soft spot for Bolton Wanderers with them being my Dad’s team. They detest Rovers so I always enjoy wins over them more than most others.
Chema looks like he is in pole position to take Dawson’s place. Didn’t really get much wrong in the second half v Stoke. I would say that the Reds looked a little all at sea for the free kick leading to Stoke’s second. Hopefully a few day’s training will help shore things up.
Forest have the form at the moment. As Monkey rightly says, Forest have turned it on against the top teams and battles away against those down the bottom end. Can they go and take on someone who is comfortably mid table and under no teal pressure? Blackburn are delighted to be back in the Championship so anything else to them is a bonus.
Blackburn 0-2 Forest
A reinvigorated Lolley after his goal in the Potteries and another poach from Grabban to keep the Red Army on. the match.
Morning, how are we all feeling about tonight’s challenge? Any Reds that are going, the pies are pretty spectacular from a small pie shop across the road from the away end of it is still going. 👍🏼
I'm not at all confident, only because I can see this run coming to an end and, as stated, we rarely to well at Ewood.
I would be happy with a draw, but if we do win, what a result that would be with 1st playing 4th and 2nd playing 6th.
Preston in 5th have got a tricky one at the Riverside too, so points tonight will be excellent.
We haven’t won much at Ewood recently, but I wanna say we’ve not lost many either and all signs point to a draw.
From what I’ve read around, Blackburn score from individual pieces of skill. If we can be solid and organised like we usually are then we can take the game to them and it might actually be one of those games where impose our style rather than the other way around as seen recently.
1-0 sh!thousery is written in the stars tonight. I think we’ll draw against Brentford though.
4 points from the next 2 games will be a very good return
I think it’s about we have Brentford a good old smashing - they are again one of those teams that always seems to ‘turn up’ when we play them - I really would like see us beat the 3 or 4:0 at the weekend - tonight’s game as many have already said, it’s a tough one to call
3 points from the next 2 games would be good, 4 would be great, 6 would be outstanding
For me this game is a free hit; if we lose we will still be in a decent position with a home game coming up.
I fancy it could be a 0-0
Mowbray reckons they can get at Forest. That’d suit the Reds as their counter attacking has been A1 so far this season.
There’ll be no chance of a Ben Brereton hat trick against his former club at least. He is out after an operation till at least November. Not been a great move for him so far.
Tricky game tonight against a bogey team. Seem to always lose to Blackburn!
It will tell us a bit more about where we are at. We have done well away but have had some luck at times. Don’t think we have always played great but have been pretty solid and always capable of nicking a goal. So will be interesting see how tonight plays out.
Often winning away is easier in the championship for some reason! There can be a lot of pressure on home games as most teams in this league feel they should be pushing for promotion.
I personally don’t think we are good enough to challenge for top 2 but more than happy to be proved wrong. If we get a result tonight then it’s definitely more evidence we are ready for top two.
Pretty rank weather today in Notts. Can’t imagine it is great up in East Lancashire. Going to be a chilly evening up at Ewood, especially as away fans are now placed in the upper tier of the away end, apparently.
I’m never confident with Forest, especially when we’ve just won. Also losing Dawson is potentially a huge blow. Is Chema the best man to come in or would it be better for Milosevic given his experience and leadership? Would definitely take a draw. There’s something about Blackburn being able to turn it on against us.
I like Milosovic a lot. But I do like to have a lefty in there.
I'd be happy with either as I would be if Figs were to be given the shirt.
Milosevic, Chema and Figuiredo are all good options for the manager to have. Milosevic and Figs have both showed in certain spells in the side that they have what it takes. I don’t know what will happen when Benaloaune and Hefele both regain fitness. Could field a back seven!
Figs it is then, with Chema on the bench.
Looks more like 4-3-3 tonight
A fourth straight away win, would be great, first time we would have achieved it in nearly 25 years apparently. Blackburn is yet another potential banana skin, and for this reason I am going for a draw, wouldn’t be surprised if it was 0-0. I’d love to be wrong and get a resounding victory, but a draw would still be a decent result. Figs in for Dawson, rather than Chema for Dawson, but Dawson is a huge loss, he has become something of a talisman, and especially a leader, without him I don’t see us having the organisation we need to win at places like Ewood park, so a draw will be fine, imo.
