I shave every few weeks...When I look too much like a total tramp..I use a Wahl head hair trimmer with gaurd off, then a bruan series 3 wet and dry electric razor, then finish with a disposable smart price razor.

Are there any bearded men on JA606?
And I don't mean the 'I can't be bothered to shave' look - I mean a proper beard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now now Winston , not the place for that. Try grinder..

I read it back and it sounds pretty bad.
OP
It will be different for everyone because of their skin.
I use a four blade which gets close enough and doesn't rip up my skin. I use that one cartridge for a whole month.
I would bet that a two blade would not be much different.

Always shave right after a shower or bath, as the steam from the water opens the pores on your skin, meaning you can get right in to the hair folicles. You get a closer shave and less irritation. Have some after shave lotion handy in case it feels a bit irritated afterwards.
Not sure how you can think that a disposable gives a closer shaved. I use the Gillette Fusion 5 and it is an excellent razor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The problem is the steamed mirror! Pain in the backside.
--------------------
I have an electric mirror with heated glass and lights around the edge. Turn it on before I get in the shower and it all ready to go when I get out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice. The bathroom is the last room in my house that we need to renew, so will make that a priority!
---------------
Deffo worth it. I think it was only about £100.
Harry's razors
Shave with the grain fully and then once against the grain to achieve a close shave
Beard. Graying.
Use some cheap super market brand disposable for tidy up, a can of shaving cream lasts about a year.
The cream cream or the foam...because the foam is terrible.

I dunno, Barbasol, like the one the guy used to smuggle the dna samples out of Jurassic park
I switched to the grandad style safety razor a couple of years back for clean shaving. Time consuming but worth it and replacement blades are much cheaper than Gillette, etc once you've paid back the original cost of the razor.

I recently bought a new mirrored cabinet with heat pads inside the panels, which prevent condensation
And on the main topic... I use a Gillette Fusion 5 and also the Gillette shaving gel which I find much better than the standard foam or gel-that-turns-to-foam stuff. I also shave every other day as I find I get very irritated skin shaving every day

Or do what I do and grow the start of a beard but then just trim it every couple of days with a trimmer thing. Then you look cool and it's easy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not when you're 51, with a greying beard, saggy chops and care little for looking smart.
The three-day beard thing makes you look like a rough sleeping alkie.
On the other hand, maybe it WOULD make me look cool in Dundee. Hmm.
Isn’t Dundee the crackhead capital of Europe?
Sundee is one of our Yes cities and a beacon of hope in our fight for our freedom from the Union.
