Isn't Pogba out for 3 weeks?

How far off is Martial Robb?

My bad regarding Pogba. I thought because he wasn’t risked for the AZ game he would be fine for Sunday but apparently it is 3 weeks. Will change now

Not sure, probably first game back after the International break

Would it be the end of the road for Ole as United manager, if his team were to lose to Newcastle ?

Probably not but the judgment day would be near if he didn’t correct the slide after the international break

Just had a look and Ole said that he probably wont be for for the Newcastle match. Probably best to leave him out and make sure he is ready to play some part against Liverpool.

If there's any doubt over the fitness of our players I don't think they should play on Sunday. Let them get a good rest over the international break and be ready for Liverpool in a fortnight.

I think the international break may have come at a decent time for United anyway with the Liverpool game coming up as it may hinder their momentum and give us a bit of a boost. A win going into it, no matter how ugly, would be a bonus.

My team wouldn't be too disimmilar to Robb's but maybe I'd put Dalot in there for Pereira and tell him to stretch the game from that side and also put Fred in there for Matic (for his energy more than anything).

If we can't beat this Newcastle team then question will be asked. On a positive note though we are now unbeaten in three games!

Genuine question, if Ole were to go, who do people think will come in an instantly turn us into a winning team with the current playing squad?

No-one will come and turn you instantly into a winning team because your current squad is not good enough.

I think his vision for the club seems sound. The problem is that the implementation of that vision isn't being done well at all (getting rid of 'deadwood' = good but not replacing them adequately = bad). The main problem for me though is that he isn't getting the most out of this admittedly weak squad. A few tweaks here and there and I think we'd be much better to watch and get better results.

The usual candidates would be up for discussion to replace him but I'd want an attacking manager so I'd rather stick with Ole for now either to see if it gets better or to see when one becomes available.

My thoughts

Diafol, he can definitely do better, but he can't put the ball in the net for our forwards. Last night was poor, but we've actually had plenty of chances in other matches and not taken them.

I know Pride. A clinical centre forward can carry an average team. I just think though that Ole, knowing we don't have these clinical forwards, needs to set the team up to create more chances.

Defensively this season we've been OK I think but I don't think we'd have looked any less solid with three in midfield pushing Pogba further up.

I don’t trust us to beat anybody home or away anymore. The only thing I can say for certain is that the Newcastle game will be absolute dross. Shocking that it’s the Super Sunday game, it’s far from Super.
Probably currently the two most negative sides in the league.

Pogba, Martial and Shaw I don’t think will be fit for Sunday therefore my team would be

DDG

AWB
Maguire
Tuanzebe
Young

McTominay
Matic
Fred

Rashford
Greenwood
James

Appalling team I know and that midfield....well if they have Ki, Shelvey and Longstaff in there then they’ll probably dominate it
Mata has to stay away from the team. He has gone, end of him. His performances have been nothing short of pathetic and if we actually had any other decent attacker then Rashford would be dropped to. He is lucky we have no backup whatsoever

Whilst I sympathize with Ole on this, the fact we keep on banging about us not finishing our few chances basically shows how much we are lacking creativity anyway.

If we were creating a bundle of chances then logic dictates we would’ve at least buried one or two of them.

posted on 4/10/19

The quality of chances we are creating isn't that good to be honest. I think Ole will get the summer transfer window at least. As I've said before I think he has a good idea of the profile of player we need, but possibly lacks the skill set to implement things on the pitch...certainly at this moment. I haven't given up hope that he is learning himself game by game and with more new signings we can start to see the shoots of something in the second half of the season.

Just buckle up for a long season.

It’s not about instantly turning us into a winning team. It’s about having a capable manager actually make the best out of what he has which is something Ole isn’t doing and to be honest probably won’t be able to do. We’re wasting time with Ole - better to get a capable guy in to rebuild us rather than take us backwards which is happening before our eyes every week.

I don't think that we are going backwards Robb. Not in terms of the squad. We are making progress, but we always needed a big clear out and a few windows the bring in the right profile of players.

At the moment Ole is sacrificing his own name (at least short term) for the long term good of the club. I will be disappointed if he doesn't get at least until this time next season to see what he can do.

If Poch becomes available like I think he’s on the verge of doing then we should go all out for him

But if not him Allegri or Blanc. Wouldn’t be against Rodgers and controversially I feel this job would be perfect for Benitez though I can’t see the club going for him at all for obvious reasons

I read the other day that Allegri wouldn't take a new job mid-season.
