I'm not sure that teaching kids that violence is the solution to a problem is necessarily a good thing.
Although I do think there's a difference between giving a wee tap on the back of the hand to a child and walloping a kid so hard on the backside that they come off their feet.
About 1 out of every 100 times I've smacked my kids I reckon it was probably the best course of action. The other 99 were just me letting a bit of steam off when there were probably better alternatives. I'm a bit better nowadays though. I try to let the drink wear off a bit before going home and nip down the pub if the hangover's got me in a stinking mood.
It never done you any harm, other than the fact you grow up thinking its ok to smack a kid.
Knew a guy(now dead and not missed)was beaten up by his da, he then to beat his mrs then his kids. His son grew up to do the same to his mrs(now divorced).
It's not the answer, though admittedly he was an extreme example.

You are using too many words there. Arguments should be resolved using fists. It's how I was brought up and never did me any harm. It has hospitalised many women, but that's harming them, not me.

Naughty step works in my hoose Ghod, or not letting them go to their pals next day, but you have to make good on it, no point caving in, weans are a lot sharper than most adults think.
