Swie, is that you going from positive to negative in a day. 😉

No. What I was saying is that once all the squad is fit and up to speed injuries will hopefully receed and perhaps our strikers will start to put the ball into the net. Getting the three points is th only way to move up the league. Of course, we need to get rid of the deficit first.

Can we achieve that? I think we can give it a good go.

17 points behind fourth bottom ,we need 12 wins before February.
I think there’s probably about 18 games before February, so some ask.

Nobody said it would be easy and it may not happen but it's not impossible. It's only impossible when we run out of games. If you look on the dark side of life all the time you would probably end up with mental problems, so cheer up.

6 wins and everyone to stand Still to catch up then there's the extra points deduction to come this month. Running out of players including our best player out till December. May be to late by then. I'm hoping to qualify for the EFL trophy knock out and a decent fa cup run and give the young players a chance. I'm prepared and expecting league one football next season and local derbies v Oldham and Salford.

League two I mean.

If that is what happens so be it. We all know we have a mountain to climb but the squad needs to focus on staying up and work towards that. If they do narrowly fail no one is going to point the finger at the squad of the management team. We are where we are through no fault of theirs but let's keep positive.

I won't judge the job hill is doing until next season. Needs this and next season to rebuild. Impressed with the defensive improvements particularly zouma in Monday . Up front is the problem but shopping in the bargain basement as usual. Goals cost money

Problems up front have been a problem for years. We have sort of got into the habit of not having decent strikers. What we need is for Hill and Flitcroft to find two gems to play together. I think it was Bruce Rioch who put McGinley and Walker together and they didn't cost a fortune. It isn't easy but it can be done with the right scouting system.

You cant find a Walker or McGinley anymore in the lower leagues, not even a reeves or philiskirk. Big lads like akinfenwa at Wycombe are the ones who seem to do well at this level.

Who'll be the first to brave this Buff podcast.
Not me I gave up the Buff when they towed the caravan away.

Benny whether or not they are Mcginley and Walker doesn't matter. There are always players who can be found that are hidden gems. That's why you need a good scouting system. I'm not saying it's easy, it isn't but there have always been players out there if you can find them.

Saturday without football, 😫

Might have gone to Burton. Found a nice pub next to the canal, ducks, barges going by. Briefly thought of going to another game instead, Salford as easy to get to than the unibol. A lot of games coming up sat, Tues, sat, Tues included a stay over in Lincoln in 2 weeks which has to be paid for. Also need new reading glasses, its all money at the moment so settled for racing on telly with the radio on in the background.

Not fun for David wheater. Oldham down to 9 men, filipe morais one of those sent off. 4-1 down including an own goal by wheater. As it stands they are 4 points above the one relegation place to the conference. This could be Bolton next season.

Benny what you doing watching L2 when you should be commenting on L1 Wimbledon beating Southend and asking how did Wimbledon get that 20yr old Marcus Forss who scored a hat trick on loan from Brentford.
Still if you insist on L2 did you miss Conor Wilkinson scoring one for Orient and getting sent off in their 3-1 win

Tbh paying little attention to league one. We are in our own mini league of one and rebuilding for next season. For the record we are 19 points plus worst goal difference from safety. 2 games in hand but more points deductions to come. Just 2 league goals scored and just 4 points earned. Just looking forward to a cup run and seeing our young players develop.

Watching the youth how worried should we be come January that the best will be off there's been an increase in interest and number of scouts watching them.
I guess it will be a big test for FV when the bids do come in.

posted on 14/10/19

It all depends on whether or not FV are going to invest in the squad or not. My money is on them keeping our best young players and replacing the loan players who are only with us until Christmas unless the better loan players can be secured until the end of the season.

Sharon has already said that they have the resources to run the club for three years and that they will not be taking money out of the club. That says to me that there will be no fire sale. The only thing that might scupper that is if Hill and Flitcroft don't see a future for some of the younger players and decide to sell to make room for other more experienced players.

Swie - spot on assessment, let’s hope when the league matches start again on Saturday, the players are much fitter, we can start winning games 3/4 wins on the bounce would be just the tonic to kick-start our season.

Josh earl and Connor hall are playing for the u23s tonight. Luke Murphy and weir also in the line up. A good change this as under Parkinson if you were out of the side you rarely played for the u23s. Not going too well as losing 2-0 to Crewe.

Dodoo and politic in the side too. Stronger side than we had in the first team early this season.

Hall scores but 3-1 down.

Pasty I hope that you have secured a deal to supply pasties etc for the club. There is going to be a pasty and pie party at the club on 21st December.

Meanwhile, the club has also confirmed there will be a special Christmas Party in the Premier Suite immediately after the home game against Southend United on Saturday, December 21.

Bolton boss Keith Hill and several players past and present will be in attendance alongside some live music, entertainment, and a pastie and peas supper.

Saturday's game will be a big one. With Keith Hill telling us that the players are now fitter and everyone waiting for that first win, I wonder if Hill and the players will have a little bit of self-imposed pressure on their shoulders. We can't keep saying that we still are up to getting a win but not delivering. I think Saturday may be the day.

posted on 15/10/19

I have a feeling the pasty will be a carrs and not a real one from Ye Olde Shoppe and the peas will be green which you can turn black by adding gravy browning.
As for the football we just need that first win with hopefully a striker stepping and doing the business what chance it being Hall off the bench.
