Problem is the performances aren't improving it's only a matter of time before the results dry up if we keep playing this way. I applaud him for giving some of the young players a chance but to keep playing certain players we all know to be garbage is going to get him sacked eventually.

2 things.

First one - Liverpool hasn’t lost a Premier League game this season and have won all of them.

Second one - for some perspective, your 9 points behind.

Bonus point - it was us that beat you.

But losing a two goal lead to Watford? Who got hammered 8-0 by City the next game was it? Also the team doesn't look like it has much fluidity about it. Performances have been average to say the least. The fact our best performances have come against opposition levels below us in cup competitions says it all.
This isn't sustainable over the period of a league season.

So technically results wise we aren't doing too shabbily.

Calling for Emery's head is a bit premature until we start to fall down the table.

We went on a long unbeaten run last season and then the wheels came off.
If our performances don’t improve, then it is very likely the same will happen.

In those games we were actually playing well in the second half of games, and Emery was actually praised for his substitutes.

We are getting results while not having any form of good performances atm, you expect the performances to pick up soon and hopefully we look stronger as a result.

If we manage to get top 4 playing like this, then I’ll be happy. Not overly bothered on style of play just yet so long as we get the results. But If we continue to play like this and get top 4 I’d still rather a change of manager who can come on and take it to next level. Emery won’t be a long term manager for us, so that’s why I’m not too fussed about playing amazing football at the moment. I just want him to get us top 4, then we can go from there and get someone who plays better football

Obviously if results go crap and the football is rubbish then he might need to be replaced earlier. We’re stlll in a transition phase, at the moment it’s most important we get top 4

It's good to see a considerable degree of predictability coming into Emery's recent starting XIs. Must have been hard for him with about half his current side missing the pre-season tour.

Won't be long before things finally start to click and Pepe & Co. acclimatise to the league..

The Watford and Spurs games really annoyed me, we should be 4 points better of no doubt about it but thanks to gormless defending from the whole team we dropped easy points.

Last season this negative approach was working. We got lots of luck in a lot of home games in particular where teams where not taking their chances.

Then we got found out in the last 9 games

The form is not improving. Yeah we are third and all that but I got a horribly feeling we will tail off again as we did last season

We have started over the last couple games to improve defensively. That was the most important thing for me as i always feel we will score enough goals to win most games. I hope that trend stays, because I think our attack will start to click more especially once Lacazette is back, and we have proper fall backs

Yes it’s not great football, but we’ll never be top 4 if the team can’t defend. Sort that issue out and results will improve, as I think we have enough attacking talent to get us through

I don't think we were playing particularly well during that time.
the game vs Wolves at home and Huddersfield come to mind. We were just very clinical but not really that entertaining. Out of the 14 unbeaten games in the league, I think we had probably 3 great games: Fulham, Spurs and Leicester if I remember correctly.

The reality is we are third, one point behind City. Our kids are improving every game and as they continue to gel the results will improve. Our defence is better than that of Spurs and Chelsea. Doom mongers will always be doom mongers.

And you can’t really talk about losing a game in the Champions League can you, you can’t lose in that.

Yesterday's starting lineup had 3 new players to the league, plus Luiz and Chambers both of whom were not at the club last season. That's practically half the squad.

We also had Tierney, Martinelli and Willock on the bench. Not to mention Holding who's been out for almost a year.

I know we've been agonizing to watch, but we also have to admit that Emery's done well to keep up with the pack under the circumstances. I don't know many other managers who've have had to deal with as much squad upheaval in such a short time.

31 shots against Arsenal from a team like Watford is unforgivable, especially when there was no reason for it.
